I was playing one of these with my friends. They were all around lvl 5 (druid, fighters, mage, cleric, and monk) and I was at lvl 2 (previous character failed disabling a trap  )

We were in the middle of the forest waiting for the King's caravan to go come. We were assigned secret escort duty. Either way, to conceal us from view and provide us early warning sounds (movement in the thick grass) our druid and mage cast a spell that would grow grass around us to a thick under brush. We arrived early so we took shifts. During my sleep a mind devourer dug a tunnel under our brush and bore a hole right to my head! Talk about SOL. I was dead before we even started.

Either way, I love this class. The best thing I did was drive a fork into a guard's head in PnP.

The Player's guide to Faerûn is the update of the FRCS to 3.5 edition. Thus can it be called viable depending in which edition of ALFA you wish to implement Psionics. ALFA will be 3.5 when NWN2 comes out and we shift to that. So, I suppose you can use that as an argument for Psionics in NWN2.

These are still all Monster Psionics.

And, little difference between psions and sorcerors so no need to add another class when it is already basically represented.
On the other hand you have different fingers.

Actually, Psionics and sorcery are vastly different in the way they are used and what can and cannot be mastered. From disciplines to actual psionic powers. Not to mention the classes. A psychic warrior has the ability to use psionics as well as leap into melee combat. Sorcerers can only do this if they multi-class or are extremely lucky. The Wilder class is more akin to the sorcerer. But, the Psion, Soulknife and Psychic Warrior all differ greatly.

This is a matter of preference. It adds more options to the game which can be a good and/or bad thing. There can be such thing as too many options, however this can be a good thing in a persistent world. We provide PCs with 11 standard classes out of the box, and an as yet undetermined number of Prestige Classes. Great. But, often times there is a desire to try more and varied imaginative creations. We've all had this desire. Four more classes which rely on a mental discipline as their basis would most certainly provide an additional catalyst for that desire and imagination. The basis of these classes and the way they differ from magic are a wonderful creative and roleplay tool. For me as a DM and a player for many many years, it's always been about imagination, creativity and endless possibilities. Psionics just gives me more facets of the game to play with.

If it's not that difficult and/or time consumin', psionics should most certainly be an option for any PC who wishes to try and master the various disciplines. If I have a hand in it, I will most certainly help implement it. So there.

i would be happy with just one of the 3 major psionic classes that Inaubryn listed

in order IMO

1) psion
2) psychic warrior
3) soulknife
Garrigan DeLorre - Paladin 6 - died honorably in battle
X'Anne - Witch (Druid/Ranger mix) 4 - captured and imprisoned awaiting trial (retired)
Talon Xavaliir - Cleric 11 - living

i have an .erf of an NPC with psionic powers

i added various mind flayer abilities to him and it works out fine

so i'm sure it could be done

there is a very nice psionics system on the vault (but it's based on 2ed rules)

so it shouldn't be too hard to do

btw, what house was that...Oblodra?...that could use psionics in menzo?

I think their blindness ability is considered psionic.

maybe the 'house' was but there are still surviving members, or at least one that i know of

anyway the point was that they are canon

And they were all wiped out (except for Kimmuriel) because of the removal of PC psionics in 3E. ;)

If you are refering to PnP Psionics was not wiped out because there is a Psionics Handbook.
In 3.5 there is the Expanded Psionics Handbook to convert 3E Psionics to 3.5 Psionics.

ok, when i said canon, i meant that they are known on toril

doesn't really matter if WotC changed editions

you can't say something never existed when it did without some cataclysmic wiping away of the force behind it

that would be like in Edition 4 WotC says no more Sorcerors and then us saying they were no longer canon - i'm sure there would be some sorcerors still alive somewhere

just like pre-1369 2e you had psionics and so like the example GF gave, they still exist somewhere

but it's all irrelevant anyway because 3.5 PGtF says psionics exists

and even that's irrelevant if a good system isn't designed to implement, so this is probably gonna be one of those wait and see topics

X'Anne - Witch (Druid/Ranger mix) 4 - captured and imprisoned awaiting trial (retired)
Talon Xavaliir - Cleric 11 - living

I'm all for Psionics and Psions and stuff. It would be cool, if we used the standard rules of psionics, so that they're not countered by magic and vice versa. This would be a plus and a minus to playin' 'em.

Counterspelling in NWN is so hard to pull off now that it's almost a joke. No hotkey and the target has to be selected, hard to do when there's no pausing.
