the official campaign will not
as for ALFA, it is completely up to us
they are canon in Forgotten Realms (i know the next posts will say..."Well Aasimar, halfdemons, halfdragons etc are canon" )
i know, but psionics in 3ed is very weak and everybody and there momma won't play a psion if we add the class
as of 3ed psionics and magic can dispell each other (doesn't make sense but i assume they did so for balancing reasons)
it is just like any other class...if you don't like them, you don't have to take the class
so there is no reason to not put it in if there is a good system (there is a good system on the vault but it is 2nd edition

)
NPCs can have some psionic powers now via the toolset by adding mindflayer abilities

In some content I've built for other places, I've given NPCs the mindflayer abilities to simulate psionics... and my PnP campaign uses 3.5 psionics... (My homebrew is really a variant of 3.5 dark sun... post apocalyptic world thing.) it's incredibly balanced, even if you play a variant where psionics and magic do not interfere with each other...
Of course, I think Aasimar and Tieflings are balanced as well.
--------------------------------------------------
My opinion: if it's canon, balanced, and able to be implemented, then do it. Variety is the spice of life... I'd love to play a psion or a wilder... My roomate's character (who was accepted into ALFA but then got busy...poor guy.) was a Maenadi psion, who was darn cool... but no more powerful than a wizard of the same level.
--------------------------------------------------
Cheers,

If you use Tranceparency Rules they can effect each other ie. Spell Resistance and Power Resistance are the same thing.

I love psionics. The psion, psychic warrior, soul knife, wilder..those are all ovely. It can be implemented and should be. More "options".
Also...I will murder anyone opposin' planetouched this time around. If drow and smurfs are balanced...so are planetouched at their lower ECLs.
Peace.

Ok, I'll do it myself then..
Welcome to another episode of Ballonger's delirious ramblings (excerpt from FRCS, pg 290: Psionics)!
"This book presents Faerûn, and indeed all of Toril, as a nonpsionic world."

so mindflayers are a myth?
and the house in menzo that uses psionics exclusively doesnt exist either?
and all the monsters in the sourcebooks?
kinda hard for THAT particular editor to say that when there are countless canon examples to the contrary

The recent Yuan ti novels set in the Southern reaches of Faerun pretty much focus on Pscioncs to the exclusion of arance magic.

how can mindflayers and rakshasa and others have psionics and they not be canon?
as Murgh Bpurn linked to, PGtoF says that anyone with the dedication can use psionics
Today in Toril, most people regard psionics as an ability possessed only by specific monsters, such as mind flayers and rakshasas. But in truth, anyone sufficiently dedicated can learn to wield psionic powers.
and there is alot of canon info from PGtF in the link provided above

One of our player races has wide use of Psionics - Duergar.
