This is an issue I keep flip-flopping on... Usually depending on how many character concepts I have floating around in my head (4 at the moment). I had an idea that would address both issues:
it's pretty much the worst pillar alfa has

This continuously pops up. I certainly wouldn't mind having a second character myself but with such things there will be problem with conflicts of interest. Probably not as serious as allowing DMs to also have PCs ... but still, they'll likely be there.
People talk of bestial cruelty, but that's a great injustice and insult to the beasts; a beast can never be so cruel as man, so artistically cruel.

Mulu wrote:Well that's new then, because I was clearly informed of a need of a match between caster and dead guy in both deity and alignment to get the spell cast, by DM's, on multiple occasions.

So then the only hurdle is trying to get enough resources to actually get the spell cast. It's still only going to be available to a select few due to the limited resource environment, of course.
I'm rather surprised actually. I've both gotten and seen multiple raisings throughout my time in ALFA and not once have I seen a DM that said anything of the sort.

Well I didn't make it up.

Since the discussion is continuing, what's the lowest level a PC has been raised in ALFA NWN2? In other words, what's the threshold for crossing the line into raise-ability? Second, how many people do you have to cybor to get it? :P

Depends who your friends are ;)

I know back in NWN1 (2003) I had a level 1 raised.

I think I managed to get in the band wagon of someone else's cyboring on that one. There was some other powerful PC who died as well, on a DM quest, so the DM couldn't raise their cybor buddy and not me without it looking bad.

It's not level-dependent... there is no "threshold". I know of a fair number of level 1 or 2 characters that got rez'd in NWN1-ALFA (received one such rez with one of my PCs, contributed towards 2-3 others as well). We don't track that sort of statistic via our databases, so no way you'd be able to look at "trends" (average max/min/median level of rez). Anecdotal testimonies in the NWN2 arena might help support or refute your idea that there is some NWN2-specific "magic number" after which you are "eligible" for IC resurrection... but it really is just an IC matter.

This was off-topic for the ACR forum to start with (Technical discussions about core scripts) , and hasn't gotten any more on-topic. Locking the thread, if people want to report who was rezed on what server at what level, they can do it elsewhere.
