gambling scripts

I've been wondering if there are any gambling scripts around, perhaps in the vault or elsewhere where players can play against each other and wager money ala poker, i think that could potentially be a good way to keep players interested in staying on the servers between dm sessions.
does anyone know of something like this?

Can't they do that already, simply by using the dice roller set to "public"?
The real issue might not be having the possibility, but rather having the cash to spare. If you seek to create a time sink rather than a gold sink, might I suggest renaming shurikens as "copper pieces", sell them at 100 for one goldpiece and using those? The game will last longer then.

Only seeing "PvE" style scripts on the NWN vault... where the "house" is the server.
Not seeing any "PvP" type scripts.
If I recall, PvE type ones as experienced in NWN1 were notoriously "leaky" in terms of gold. Quickslot a variety of talk commands to say "stand", "hit me", "black", "red" or whatever the scripted dealers were listening for and you could grind your way to a fortune.
PvP type scripts would be much, much more interesting, since frankly it's more like giving gifts between PCs (no standards / exploity problems) as opposed to creating a scripted gold fountain.

merely tossing dice and seeing who gets the highest roll isnt really a compelling game, a proper gambling script if it exists as i desire would deliver something deeper than that, wether it would be for the money, or enjoyment of the game itself, it would keep players engaged and socializing.

exactly, players would have to pony up their own cash, so no worry about endless fountains of gold

Variations on Ponk work well.
3d6. Everybody rolls.
Player decides to keep or lose his roll.
Every round, the player plunks money in, to stay in, or else plays for a pre-arranged pot.
Five rolls of 3d6, and the player who manages to get EITHER the highest or the lowest "hand" out of a three-roll total score (meaning for each of the rolls, that an 18 and a 3 tie, but a 17 beats a 5 and a 5 beats a 13) wins the pot.

The Known Lands implemented some card-type games with a custom GUI a long time back, and put those scripts and resources on nwvault. It's possible we could integrate those into the ALFA GUI to make them usable for in-character gaming between PCs. Testing would likely be more than a little tricky, since we'd need multiple player clients logged into the testmod to tell if it was working as expected (and not knowing the games myself, I might not know if it wasn't). I think we have a few members who were active on TKL (The Known Lands) at one point or another, though. Rion of Erb jumps to mind, for one... maybe we can arrange for some testing.
