Why would you want to just take the Improved Control Shape Feat and you can control it and the powers benefit you?

'cause then you have to take on the alignment and personality of the werecreature; instant and permanent effect the first time you successfully control shape. It pretty much means turning your character into an entry in the Monster Manual.

Problem results from a present PC getting bitten, and treating it like someone just handed them a free set of +3 fullplate. Or worse, PCs going out of their way to get bitten for said Uberisation.

An ALFA PC making a comitment to say werecreature at 1st level was discused somewhere during the ECL 'Savage Species' talkie.

Anyhoo, the standard Wish or Miracle spells should cure it. Or some random sideplot thing with a DM, I seem to rember a cure for vampirsim in BG2 was setting the afflicted on a alter to the dead sun god Amathor or somthin, but ya get the idea. Cure Disease is a bit to low level for somthing like Lycanthropy, after all if it was that easy to cure there wouldnt be as many of the horrors running around.

Cure Disease works, by ye olde rulebook, but you have to cast it right away. Completely forgot about Limited Wish, Wish, and Miracle, though. Rules are probably counting on the "duplicate spell" clause mimicing a break enchantment or a remove curse for those spells, though. None of the cures for lycanthropy, I'd note, involve a wiggling of fingers, and then poof you're fixed. They're all wiggling of fingers to give another save. If you don't have a good bonus to a fort save, it'll take many attempts to get that lycanthropy cured.
