Re: TSM Travel Map - A Guide
I am curious to know if thre are plans to expand the walkmesh from the immedate road areas?
Perhaps increasing the difficulty of encounters as one travels further offroad?

Re: TSM Travel Map - A Guide
hmm... thatd only work if the road encounters DC was lowered... packs of ghast... ogres etc make the ones on the road hard enough
though I agree it'd be cool to be able to go off road too, looking forward to seeing peoples first 'points of interest' come to fruition
by the by, when leaving high hold east we departied using the cancel follow button, it says i signal to come off the road and we ended up on the road to the elven town.. maybe a bug?

Re: TSM Travel Map - A Guide
The system will eventually be extended to include free-wandering across the map, with encounter types, rates, and difficulty varying with terrain type (roads being much safer, of course). Also peppered in will be "hidden" triggers to unlabeled points of interest and other goodies. But, one step at a time for these things. Wynna has done a fantastic job at bringing the system to fruition and dealing with the myriad complications involved.
This is something I've wanted to see since before Live; it was part of Ronan's original plan for the Sunset Vale server, but such a challenging system that I'd not been able to find the time to even start into it properly. Kudos to Wynna for taking up the torch and making it happen.

Re: TSM Travel Map - A Guide
agreed, a massive Kudos to wynna on getting it this far!
the encounters are fun even if way overpowered anyway, definitely exciting when you get attacked, my heart was pounding as i kept walking and then saw the undead moving suprisingly quick in my direction!
so thanks again

Mini-Corio walked all around and nary a dragon was found. Hmmph. Must be that dwarfy smell =P
The map itself looks fantastic. Very nice job Wynna. Can't wait until my first encounter.

Re: TSM Travel Map - A Guide
I had a chat with a dragon once. She said the only benefit to eating broiled elf was the fact that their ears double as toothpicks.
<paazin> Elves I bet are kinda fun to play.
<BH|werksux> I prefer the trumpet or clarinet
<BH|werksux> elves wiggle too much

Re: TSM Travel Map - A Guide
guess that makes me relatively safe then!
Re: TSM Travel Map - A Guide
Safe from the dragons maybe. But take it from me, if you're an elf, watch out for those cloud giants.

Not sure if it's been said before.
But infravision in travel map mode, lights the area for miles around i guess.
