Actually, I've been trying to address the overheating thing for awhile - last night I was playing on my laptop with the laptop slightly raised, and sitting on a double-fan laptop cooling base. And it still got really hot and I could not reliably log in, and when I did, went through spurts of lag. I think maybe my internal fan is broken or something, or maybe I got one of the nVidia cards that routinely overheats. I don't know - I am going to give a Dell a call (the laptop is under warranty) and see if its actually broken. The problems I'm having are not just in NWN2 - I often crash playing Mass Effect, or Oblivion as well.

I am glad everyone had a good time with WW and dragoness last night - and I am jealous of course, especially as I put the group together. C'est la vie. I will try again tonight.

Mik, there is a manufacturing flaw in your hardware, specifically the video card. I believe Dell has released a BIOS update to try to mitigate the problem. You might even be eligible for hardware replacement. You should contact Dell for more information.

I logged in once or twice last night to see if I could possibly get in on some of that action (even though I have no IC reason to leave home; people would need their own reasons to come to Rivermoot to essentially "recruit" Claina). I didn't add my name/rank/title to the list because I can't say for sure I can make it regularly to play, but I'll sure make the effort tonight.

When I was on, I met no lag at all, so maybe what you guys experienced might have been the sheer number of people gathered in one area? I don't know how many were on, though, so...

Dammit! Well, as crappy as it is, I am glad for that link fluff - I was beginning to think I was going crazy, or did not understand laptops and their lava-like temperatures, or what. But that explains a LOT. No wonder the damn thing overheats all the damn time (despite twin-fan cooling base and other home remedies). Alright, well, THANKS. At least now I know how to address this with the Dell folks.

I clicked "yes" to update to 1.13 on the way to the bathroom, and promptly felt the sting of remorse a few seconds later.

From pressing yes, not while literally going to the bathroom, of course.

With the way the server has been behaving tonight, I am regretfully calling off the session tonight. Paaz's session was subject to horrid lag and multiple crashes. We will reschedule for next Wed/Thurs in the hopes that the server will have settled down.

No problem Wynna - I am having big problems with my comp overheating anyway. Fluff pointed me in the right direction though - seems my computer got one of those bad nVidia cards that overheats. Fortunately, its under warranty.

Anyway, I will most likely not be able to make it next week. I will be spending some time with my son before he leaves. My apologies for any inconvenience - I will be back for the 13th and 14th though, and maybe have a fix for my laptop by then. Who knows? Ciao all.

Just FYI, AL is trying a fix for the mod by switching computers. I'll be on, but only DMing small things. The session WW and I were going to run was going to follow on from Paaz's but can't now and we'd both rather postpone and take it easy tonight.

Will be on later tonight, but from this message stamp, i'll be taking about 6 hours or so nap.

edit: yes, i will continue last weeks session. For those who were in part of it, but not there until the end of the session, i recommend going into #alfa chat and getting an update from Kest.

Any persons interested in participating in the session, it will start in Silverymoon North. 9 or 10ish PST. Would have aimed for earlier, but r/l tasks came up.

Unfortunately, as most of you know, the server was not available.

Will aim for approximately 6pm PST tonight. Not sure yet, but last i knew, Wynna was planning to start her session around 9pm PST. If such is the case, you can either plan for a long session (approx 3 hrs w/me and then however many hours w/ Wynna). I'll hang about to assist Wynna should she wish to run her session.

My session will -switch/merge- with hers, so no concern over being in two different sessions.
