Re: Dungeon Crawl
That's a good sized list! I'll watch with interest and keep up with Xan in IRC as "timezone etc. negotiation" takes place.
I haven't got a huge preference as to whether this would be a job for Rhaggot (10) or Bamshogbo (8). Rhaggot fights, Bam heals. Watching the party makeup once time zones etc. sort who can make it, could influence the pick here (example, if you lost Keren due to, y'know, Israel... healing deficit).
IC reasoning for like "there's a hole full of monsters" would not be a hard sell for Rhaggot. Or "well Argos is going" would be likely be enough for Bam.

I have had several people ask me already when does this crawl start? also, can we start working on a time and day of the week please?
Re: Dungeon Crawl
The areas are done, supposedly. I need to finish up a few creatures and then get them added and test them to make sure my inexperienced hands didn't break anything with them. Assuming everything works out properly then I think I'm about ready. I'd like to avoid setting a firm date until I'm sure all the technical details are resolved, though. I don't want to have to cancel just because something broke.
Theoretically maybe then sometime this weekend would be good. Saturday would be my preference. Again though, not setting a firm date until I'm sure everything works.

The opposite of idealistic is pragmatic, a word that describes a philosophy of "doing what works best."
From Greek pragma "deed," the word has historically described philosophers and politicians who were
concerned more with real-world application of ideas than with abstract notions. A pragmatic person
is sensible, grounded, and practical.

Re: Dungeon Crawl
Again, I'll stay tuned... though I wouldn't tend to burn two nights of the same weekend on gaming. I know we've pencilled in me GMing Dungeonworld for Sunday night (which really only affects me and Xan from the list I guess). Again, will stay tuned.
Editing post with a suggestion: throw us a rumor when you feel a rumor works. Something that'd tantalize adventurers, but also give us a hint as to what kinds of preparation to take. False leads are as they are as well, but it'd also suck to burn half a session with "oh wait I need to find cold iron where are the shops here..."

Re: Dungeon Crawl
If Jmecha is away then I'll tentatively suggest next Friday or Saturday.
And I do intend to make appropriate IC measures as soon as we're firmly settled on a date.

Re: Dungeon Crawl
I'm fine for any time on Saturdays. US mornings is probably the most accommodating time to be able to include most time zones.
Re: Dungeon Crawl
i'm free saturday mornings usually. saturday nights (US) i am already committed to DMing a campaign of my own. as many players as there are already, I can always bow out if my time doesn't fit.

Re: Dungeon Crawl
Throw up a When is Good and get painting in times would be my suggestion.
I am a USA evenings only type player, weekdays I work, weekends I do the Dad scene and don't nerd out til after kid bedtimes.
I am not stressed about missing out, my ALFA experience has had an outrageous amount of dungeoneering and DM'd adventures... not all the potential players on that list have got to have such an experience. Schedule in favor of them!

Re: Dungeon Crawl
My schedule for the next few weeks (possibly months) is rather unpredictable, but Saturday mornings are probably doable.

Re: Dungeon Crawl
Okay I think everything is good to go. I'm going to say Saturday morning PST, unless there's a flood of complaints, because of mixed time zones. I think that's the fairest time for people to be able to make and I can't do Sundays.
I don't know how long this will take to do because players are always unexpected and I don't want to rush people through this sort of thing. It may stretch out into two or three Saturdays in a row. I also don't really like dragging things out over an extended period of time because of losing focus and such, so I'll probably stick to running it once a week until finished, unless a whole bunch of people absolutely can't make it.
I will make appropriate IC information on this known shortly.

Okay. Next Saturday is girlfiend's birthday.
And while she pretends its fine ill play in truth she will kill me in my sleep afterwards.
So can't commit to anything for coming Saturday.
