Downloads and Installation for NWN2

Post by stephenhamilton »

I'm willing to bet this post is going to be quite annoying for all the people out there that aren't techno-njub's like me, but it might help some of us techno-njubs give some feedback on the developments of the betas.

I'm trying to download and install all the haks and erfs and all that jazz for the NWN2 OAS Beta server, but I can't seem to get my ducks in a row. Either I'm not downloading everything I need (which I've been doing from the download page) or I'm simply not putting everything in the right place.

Could someone please tell me in detail what files I need to download, where to download them, and where to place those files in order to run NWN2 OAS Beta?

OAS2 Beta is the easy one, you've likely been trying too hard.

All you should need is the pwc file, available here:

http://www.alandfaraway.org/downloads/N ... 2_test.rar

you'll want to unRAR that and put the resulting .pwc file into your folder:

My Documents/NeverwinterNights2/pwc/

The PWC is an easy thing to overlook. Hopefully we'll be able to setup a more mindless update system for everyone.

Technonjub, fronting up. Here's what I'm getting on trying to start NWN2 MotB, with the 1.2 haks and on 1.106 or whatever the latest version is.

When indio gets TSF back into the condition he wants, you may want to look into the WorldGate client, which automates a lot of the downloading for you and sticks everything in the right place (at least for PWC updates). WorldGate is available on NWVault; check out the TSF forum for a link.

There's no word yet on whether this will be standardized for ALFA2 servers or not.

Wynna your nwn1 area converter plug in is out of date..
FYI you always gets error messages when your plugins are installed in the toolset but not updated to the same patch as the toolset..

Thanks, Thangs. So, if I just take it out, all should be well.
