Demetrius' DMFI package

Post by Aelred »

Demetrius' DMFI package is working really well now.
The first link below comes with an easy to use installer exe and a tutorial/mod that has a ground lever to switch from player view to DM view so you can explore all the tools in the GUI very easily.

(((There is also a similar link specifically for designers here:

Player interface
I tested it in game in the Sundren Persistent World - www.sundren.org. - The player interface for languages totally rocks. It has all the features of the old emote ball for rolling skillls, saves, and dice, as well as some nice language tools that use a letter replacement system different for each language. When someone speaks in a language other than common if you don't know the language you get the replacement letters, if you do know it you get the replacements AND the translation in common. Also the replacements were done with alot of care taken to the specific languages. Example elvish has alot of liquid and nasals sounds (L, LY, N, M, S, F) . Dwarvish has alot of stopped sounds (K,KH,G). Drow has those weird consonant combos (XV, ZX, ZV). etc.
- You can use the player DMFI tool in your inventory to rename yourself, your objects, or your associates. After killing my first goblin, I renamed myself Aelred "Goblinbane" Winthrope. And I christened my sword as "Bloodletter".
- The gui of course also has emotes/animations.

DM interface
I downloaded the tutorial and played with the DM interface. It makes it easy to add music, sounds, and VFXs. The ton of Spell VFX's are organized in drop down menu's.

The tutorial mod explains how everything works and if you are missing anything needed to run the mod it somehow downloads the stuff while you are still in the mod...just amazing.

Since the DMFI comes with an installer.exe that puts everything where it is supposed to be, it is totally no hassle to try out.

Please take a look and post your thoughts.
