It's been forever and a day since I've been on any ALFA server, so I'm totally blind as to what's available to classes nowadays. I do know that there is a wizarding school in TSM, but I'm not sure about BG. How supportive, in an IC way, is BG toward budding magic users? Is there a school I can apply to, or a guild I can join for support?
Mainly, I'm asking because mages need a lot of hand-holding at early levels, especially when not powergamed, and I don't feel like throwing my life away trying to do an NPC quest that's bound to kill me.
Thanks for any info or links, and hope to see you all in-game

If you're asking about static content I don't think there's anything on BG other than being able to turn in material component type of stuff you find for a bit of gold and xp at a certain location. Lady's College on TSM on the other hand...
ICly BG should have a wide variety of options for mage related RP stuff (two major mage owned shops not including the thayvian enclave, a PC wizard's tower, etc), as well as... other not so easy to access places, but these would require DM/PC interactions.

First of all, super awesomesaucy to see you RDW back in the saddle.
I'm so jealous of your idea.
Go Red Wizard of Thay all the way. Cool enclave north of East-Gate-ish. Ready. Set. BURNING HANDS!

Eh, he may get swayed by the Red Wizards, but I'm going for a more hedgemage feel to him. Been making back my expenses and exploring the server via the wonderful postal system in the meantime. I find playing a foreigner and newcomer to a town is the best way I can reconcile taking fetch quests
I'll keep my eyes open. Maybe I'll do a correspondence course with TSM

Good to see you back RDW. I have an unused Red War College at the Red Knight citadel. If you can play US nights I can DM your PC periodically for the early levels. Pretty much pay for tuition, but no scripted quests what so ever. Would be entirely DM only.
