Thanks to BHM for the freedom.

Sharp Teeth AT back to Gullykin doesn't work.

The Tradeway chickens are hostile, and so are mice.

Got jumped by spawns lurking at the AT ingress point from Gullykin > Sharp Teeth. Had no time to react and was being wailed on before the transition process had finished. (There are a few other ATs that also seems to have spawn-campers but I can't remember precisely where.) No big deal this time, a few free hits by a mob of spiders isn't so tough to brawn through, but far, far scarier spawns are possible in these regions which may equal automatic transition death.

Thanks for the heads-up, I-KP.

The ACR spawns shouldn't allow this to happen ... let me know if you remember any more of these.

Outskirts of Wood of Sharp Teeth - the cave's transition does not function.

Could it be that someone was chased out of the area and the gribblies then defaulted to being spawn-campers? More than once I've had to hide and wait for wandering monsters to vacate the immediate vicinity of an AT (thus far at worst being a handful of Kobolds); presumably someone ATing in at just such a moment may encounter a nasty shock? (Maybe these beasties appeared to be closer to the AT than they actually were.)

Other areas with 'spawn-campers' seemed to be very close shaves rather than being automatically ambushed; but Animal Companions once again prove to be liabilities in such close encounters by kicking off immediate heat before you're always aware of what's going on (chance to scan the radar, camera orientation etc.). Sometimes when I transition the Companion spawns a few paces ahead of the wee Hin which presumably puts it closer to the respond radius of anything wandering close to the AT..?

transition camping spiders are present about 50% of time in transition from cloakwood area that immediately follows cloakwood hills (coming from bg) transitioning to cloakwood area that leads to sword coast.

also, to prevent my eloquent description of the transition in future... perhaps cloakwood areas should be given numbers or something? they all are called cloakwoods at the moment...

The AI of spiders is to wander all around the area, so it's feasible they'll sit right on an AT. The Spot check you get when ATing should save your skin there though.

Other monsters shouldn't spawn atop ATs though.

Perhaps he's waiting for one of the truly faithful. ;)

  • The Lesser Shaman Staff as occasionally sold by Apprentice Fe'in of the Sorcerous Sundries has 50 charges but nothing to spend those charges on.
  • The Lantern, Hooded that can be found on some Goblins is invisible and gives no light.
  • Roaming Driftglobes and other NPCs push Xavier Hampton, the publican of The Elfsong Tavern away from his post, and eventually all over the place
