Auto-Downloader

This is getting silly. It's been sitting on 4kb/sec for the past twenty minutes, and since starting downloading half an hour ago hasn't risen about 32kb/sec. Is there any alternative way around using the Auto-downloader, as there's no way I'm keeping NWN2 open for 21 hours waiting for it to download.

I initially had the same problem, try logging in around 1am GMT time, got about 100Kbs then..
I think AL has a link to a place you can download all the files as well.

Which machine are you two connecting to ?
The files aren't downloaded from the machines hosting the modules. If you connect to BG to download, you download from the machine that hosts the website among other things, it's a massive server on a 10 GIGABIT dark fiber link.
If you connect to TSM, you currently get files from a fileserver in the US,- the same that is used for DM ftp, i'm unsure about the specs, but for me, living in norway, i rarely get decent speeds from it,- especially during primetime US.

Send me your machine in the post Rotku, my average speed at my local time of 6pm was around 150k/s, and I think that was my modem maxing out.

I'm in the eastern US. Last night I was getting VERY slow transfers from the european server (downloads.alandfaraway.org, about 26kB / sec) and fairly fast transfers from the US server (ftp.alandfaraway.org, about 150-200kB / sec).
Could it be that US is faster for US, and euro is faster for euro? If that's the case, and its significant difference... could the servers be pinged / tested before download to see which is faster for a given client?
Here's how to tell where you're coming from: Go to Documents and Settings/<user>/
Local Settings/Temp/NWN2/Logs directory, and look at nwnclient1.log It should show you where you're downloading from.
Might it be prudent to place the haks somewhere else as an alternate download... like as a torrent somewhere?

Tried that time. No success. Got to 10% before crapping out.

Have tried both. TSM is marginally faster/times out less.

Just tried now (which has to be one of the busy times for US) and am getting 130kb/sec.
If this rate keeps up I might be able to play!

Can't find that anywhere...

Very good idea! Or even keep WG going.
