Death and dead

Far too tired, wasn't paying attention and waded in unawares only to be killed by a goblin. Didn't see how I could delete my character so created another character that apparently took the place of the first on the Fugue Plane. [Should have read the rules and been patient for my goddess to come along, but didn't.]
Second character stuck, dying on Fugue Plane without any gear. Answers? Ability to start over and pay more attention to my first level wizard up against a gobbo. Did I mention that I was tired?

You'll have to use a different name for your new pc.

Pillar #4: Permadeath
Dead is ......dead! (There are ways to come back to life like in the D&D world by others using spells ike Raise Dead and Resuurection, but that ain't gonna happen for a lvl1 ...so read on

)
Permadeath means that when your PC Jimmy McJimmy dies he is .....dead.
Jimmy McJimmy's soul passes to the fugue plane to await departure to its final resting place. The fugue plane is the end of the line in ALFA though. There is no being picked up by an avatar of your deity and being taken to Goldenfields etc. The fugue plane is the end. (Unless you expect some PC or NPC is willing to spend aa lot of gold and put a lot of effort into bringing you back magically.....that's it.)
A player can not recreate another character also named Jimmy McJimmy and re-enter the ALFA world. Jimmy's life is over.
You must create a *new* character, Fred McFred, who starts over at level 1 with basic starting gear, no memories of Jimmy, a different story, history etc.
There are some people who will try to reuse the same character concept over and over, using the Jimmy McJammy, then we he dies Jimmy McJummy. Please do *not* do this. It is cheese.

One good tip is to not use your best character concept until you really learn how to survive in ALFA. So probably 10 or so PC's from now, unless you are very cautious.

Wow, more good advice. Perhaps it is a good thing that the last time I played was years ago, allowing me to come up with numerous character concepts in the meantime. Thanks all!

I'm amazed you can remember...
My first PC probably died to some goblins or something while trying to solo some static in Daggerdale.
