Overcoming GameSpy Lag while Logging

Find the folder

Windows/System32/drivers/etc

then open the file hosts with notepad with administrator rights.

paste this under the current list you have

Code: Select all

0.0.0.0 				nwauth.kr.infogrames.com
0.0.0.0 				nwmaster.bioware.com
0.0.0.0 				nw2master.bioware.com
0.0.0.0 				nwn2.master.gamespy.com
Note: in between the 0.0.0.0 and the adress in each line, add 4 tabs that will act as wide spaces. That is 1 regular space and 4 tabs. Only worked for me like this.

That should make it faster and avoid that annoying gamespy blurp until it states there was an error.

it works!

*open notepad "as an administrator"
*then open "hosts" via notepads file menue
*insert text as pictured above
*save
*close client and restart whole thing

YAY!

Nice. I thought about doing something like this but didn't had the time so far to use wireshark to figure the names of the servers.

oh and while you have the hosts file opened you can do this:
