It is said the dwarven crossbowman Thorik has spent the last tenday plus mourning in Felbarr, having learned of spellcaster Kalin's falling in the Plantation outside Rivermoot.
Some of the pavilion merchants applaude Thorik's absence, calling him, "A mangy-fur peddler..." and even, "He's got as much mercantile charm as those rusty weapons he buys and trades with the sellsword rabble."
Few spoke in defence, "He's a fair shot with a crossbow, and willing. Our walls could use more o' those!"

There's some talk amongst the folk of Rivermoot about the bounty awarded to a man calling himself Black Derek by Marshall Kadallion for the ears of thirteen goblins - or was that thirty? Some say he strolled in to Dogleg Dell alone and casually butchered the creatures before walking to town to claim his bounty. Others say that he was seen that day setting for the hills with two others, and looking rather panicked and the worse for wear on his return. In any case the Marshall believed his account, and the Marshall's no fool; what's more, this "Black Derek" has taken to wearing the severed ears on a cord around his neck. Would a man do that if he had something to hide?

There is gossip flying about the Lady's College and the Palace both, that Magus Miresk teleported in a great hurry from the former to the latter, seeking Spellguard Bellweather...but unsuccessfully. The Spellguard was apparently not to be found at the Palace, where he was supposed to be interrogating a prisoner.
A pair of female students giggled that the handsome Spellguard had been sleepwalking through the library that evening, according to the Registrar, and the girls wanted to know why he hadn't gotten enough sleep last night, hmmm? And why was mousy little Imogene upset to the point of tears when she rushed out of the Registrar's office later that night? Surely there couldn't be anything going on between the brainy-but-plain Divination Proctor and the dashing-but-arrogant Spellguard...could there? But, then, again, Imogene was heard to claim that he had stolen something from her. Could it be her heart? Or just her pride? Theories abound, from Spellguard Bellweather dallying thoughtlessly with the naive Imogene, to the Registrar breaking up a happy romance because of her own unrequited passions for Bellweather. Truth be told, Registrar Serapheena does seem very interested in whether Bellweather had been seen leaving Imogene's dorm room....

Word around High Hold is that of recent attacks by wild animals on the trails near town. There's even talk of Argent Legion patrolmen finding a fur-clad dwarf "half-eaten" on the road just by the bridge.
It is also said this dwarf later called the Red Knights "robbers" for some reason.

Word is Scholar Madeleine (who was recently seen with a tall reserved gentleman, moving out her personal effects from within her assigned dormitory) had a brief angry outburst when informed of the matter vociferously suggesting that they "stop the ceaseless inane prattle of that of Bellweather which [they] did not understand and continue instead with [their] studies" -- the going assumption is that not only is it Registrar Serapheena that is jealous of the Spellguard's involvement with the Divination Proctor.Wynna wrote:A pair of female students giggled that the handsome Spellguard had been sleepwalking through the library that evening, according to the Registrar, and the girls wanted to know why he hadn't gotten enough sleep last night, hmmm? People talk of bestial cruelty, but that's a great injustice and insult to the beasts; a beast can never be so cruel as man, so artistically cruel.

The outer gates of Rivermoot have been taken down in an effort to reinforce and refurbish them.

The city of Silverymoon was in lock down for a period of several hours today! The region is reeling with rumors. All that is known is that bells began to toll suddenly, and soldiers and spellguard rushed to their posts. The gates were barred and none were allowed in or out of the city. The Moonbridge was closed to all crossers. Where facts end, though, whispers begin, and whispers abound of a disturbance inside the very inner ward, the High Palace of Silverymoon.

Rumor has it that a notorious half orc around the marches exchanged few harsh words with the militia sergeant in Rivermoot. Things got heated and blades were drawn when threats kept coming from both sides. Eventually the half orc invited the sergeant to a duel outside of the village, an offer that was politically declined by the sergeant.

The Northside Constabulary hanged three murderers: a hin female and two male humans. Many commoners might be heard to comment about a full Knight in Silver having given testimony that Garlus Ironbeard, Liam Longstride, and Aldenor gave admirable assistance in the apprehension of the villains.

Word spreads rapidly that the watchpost known as the Hawk's Nest has been overrun by a band of Gnolls. An elf and a gore splattered dwarf recognized as Talhund Ironbeard entered the Hunter's Gate early this morning and informed the guards before crossing the Moonbridge together.
If the rumours are true then the Gnolls were driven off but not before the entire garrison of four Knights in Silver were slain upon Gnoll Axes and Spears. No word yet on an expedition to retake the watchpost.

A heavily armed contingent of Argent Legion troops along with a House Invincible officer entered the garrison at Rauvinwatch near dawn the previous morn, having travelled through the night to reach the place from Quearrvar. A small ox drawn cart was closely guarded by the men. It was reported to carry one piece of cargo....a fallen wizard reclaimed from somewhere in the northern wilds. Apparantly the corpse was mostly covered, with only his fiery red hair noticed to be hanging out from the shroud.

A large half orc with tempite battle suit came out of the sewers in silverymoon, slightly wounded but with two corpses on both of his shoulders. Besides the corpses, two large but locked chests were tied to his back.
The half orc first headed to the constable office, threw the corpses in front of the constable and mumbled something unclear until the guards forced him out.
From the constable quarters the half orc headed to the smith's shop to ask him if he could gently open the locks.

Crilo Stagshead, proprietor of the Angler's Inn on the opposite bank of the river from High Hold, was questioned extensively by a group of soldiers.
Many of the regular patrons were also extensively queeried. The men seemed to be particularly interested in seeing if any new of strange patrons had been spending time at the inn.
The local fisherman who reside on the far bank have taken to sleeping with their doors barred at night as stories have begun to circulate about the moors awakening with the restless dead once again.

It is said Talhund Garlus of Clan Ironbeard strode into the city bearing a body. He was seen entering the House Invincible with the body, covererd in cloth.
Those within House Invincible would know that Talhund Garlus of Clan Ironbeard brought the body of Gill Blake into the temple, setting him in the main floor. He has spoken to Corridor, saying the man was found in between the Crow's Nest and Auvendell, that a passing Red Knight Preist was also there to witness the recovery. It is reported that there were no signs of the man's killers, nor is it known how exactly he died. As Garlus left, he was heard to say... "I sheld ah left ehm ware eh lay fer tha wolves to geht, since eh ahd sech ah prablem whit moovin dead badays....but eehn ah backstabbah sech ahs eh daserves ahn ahnerabahl buriahl."

Rumor has it that a well known half orc was seen rescuing a woman from a group of ogres near the old temple in Rivermoot. Other reports mention that the half orc was seen later entering a cave in the hills north of the village and coming out shortly after, heavily wounded and in the company of a goblin.
It seemed the two were friendly with each other and both headed further north deep into the mountains. The woman who was rescued earlier on by the half orc and was escorted back to village kept mumbling to passersby... "Doris".
