Rumor has it that few halfling children from Gullykin who went to play near Firewine ruins never made it back home. Gullykin militia soldiers who went looking for them returned empty handed.

Some of the Militia from Gullykin can add credence to a rumor that three clerics of differing faiths entered the Firewine Ruins to search for the missing halfing children. Apparently, they also failed to find anything of significance to locate the children, but they did find the body of a woman that they put to rest and evidence of undead in the area. They were not able to gain entry into any of the crypts, tombs, or buildings still standing.

It could be heard around the farms near the Woods of Sharp Teeth that giants are roaming the outer woods.

It is said that an ettin has been killed along the road, three more killed further in, and yet another three killed deep within the woods along with a plated figure.

It is believed that Janice True, leader of the "TRUE WOLVES" is behind the recent giant uprising that has killed at least three and harrassed many more. The local city guards, and Flaming Fist, have been notified of True's last position, as well as given a description of her.

Days after yet another caravan is attacked in Amnish country, a band of well armed adventurers including elves, dwarves and humans take to the Passes above Nashkell to put down the threat of Giants.

The party returned to Nashkell some hours later, as guards pulled in the remains of scouts sent earlier. It is widely said the Giants of the Cloudpeeks are using animals to their advantage, as a huge wolf and bear were both seen by the guards whom were sent for the bodies of the scouts and the remains of the caravan...though the wolf itself seemed to be skinned.

Some hours after their return, the dwarf, GiantBane Ironbeard, was seen to stride back up the pass by himself, whilst the rest of his party strode back toward Beregost. Many hours later, the Ironbeard yanked in another makeshift sled, a total of ten huge axes on it, the dwarf claiming to have found and killed four more by himself.

Rumours speak of a Huge bear being sighted in the Cloakwood, the bear was noted as being unusual for its sheer size, folk mutter that sooner or later it'll kill someone and then there'll be trouble.

Numerous sightings of both Devils and Demons of lesser varieties have been seen all over the region of late, usually accompanied by orcs or goblins doing the summoning. The trouble is... why are they summoning them. The Fist mercenaries that walk the roads suggest taking extra care, lest you be set upon.

Two men, followers of Lathander, though not residents of the Temple in Beregost were reported as missing after a long stay in the town. Most simply believe they continued their travels, while a few fear worse.

Spider sightings of varying sizes have been becoming more common again in the Wood of Sharp teeth, warnings to not travel alone lest you be caught have been common at the Friendly Arm Inn.

Further South toward Nashkel, the trouble with Frost Giants continues to plague caravans coming out of Amn, though it seems they've gained a healthy respect for the Giantbane - Garlus Ironbeard.

Bandits still occasionally trouble the off roads, though in recent times their presence has become less common.

((note, I've set, and am Setting up more as I type... a lot of different encounters, some are low CR and not very dangerous, others are very tough and would see anything other than a party of mid levels likely killed. You've been warned :) ))

Rumour speaks of an especially Large creature... likely in the Deepest areas of the wood of sharp teeth, apparently a few different groups have gone missing hunting it.

((OOC note - this is a very high CR encounter, I'd not advise it for anyone that isn't high level... or has a death wish))

Meanwhile in Nashkel a rumor spreads...

People speak of a huge, even among his own kin, frost giant who call himself Jarl Ulaf, the champion of Clan Gunnarson. It is said the giant promised that his kin would stop the attacks if the dwarf known as Garlus Giantbane would meet him out in the pass for a match who would leave only one warrior standing.

Reports of frost giants blocking the way south to Amn through the cloud peaks pass has been received in the Aminian guard post in Nashkel. The local captain in charge of the forces has offer a reward of 2500 gold in total for the brave adventurers who will deal with the threat so trading will be restored.

((Recommended for higher level group of at least 4 people))

A group of adventurers was seen emerging from Sharp Teeth forest, badly wounded and carrying a human corpse. The same group was spotted later on coming out of the morning lord temple in Beregost , still carrying the corpse. Rumor has it the group was banished from the temple by the local priest.

It is believed the large creature has been put down. An enormous spider was said to have been slain by a company led by a local Preistess of Selune, one Persephone. The band was seen to have broken up at the Blade and Stars under talks of gods, training, spells and other such queries....

The Giantbane Ironbeard is said to walk about Nashkell, keeping an eye on the heights for the long shadows of giants or their hounds. Runners have been sent down to Beregost and beyond for able swordsmen to help with the trouble in the passes.

Talk about Beregost is that a group of adventurers (including Persephone, Voric Mael and Alyra Ashedown) physically pushed a damaged wagon into town. The Lathanderites quickly covered its openings, but one man in the Red Sheaf claims to have gotten a look under the burnt canvas cover. He described a grisly sight within: dozens of burnt bodies piled high.

Mutterings about the town are that the slaughter was the result of the adventurers' meddlings. Many raise their voice in support of Alyra, clearly suspicious of non-Lathanderite doings. Voric gets the worst of it by far, with many spitting at mention of his name.

(( My apologies for the huge number of people who showed up for this expecting something more. Had the party not have attacked Geth or triggered the glyph of warding in the wagon, he might have gotten away and there would've been a nice session tracking him down. Oh well! ))

A note is scribbled at a nearby farm, and word is mentioned at the Friendly Arms Inn of a body found near the Tradeway south that needs recovery and identification. If the family of the deceased is found, word is asked to be left at the Friendly Arms Inn for either Olaf or Brenna.

-- An Elf dressed entirely in white known as Whitewolf reports at the friendly arms inn that the cave near the Lion's Cross which is typically uninhabited is housing a number of Bugbears which appear to have attacked a caravan and killed a number of people. She says that she herself was unable to handle the problem as there was quite a few. Anyone who handles this problem can expect she will pay a hundred gold pieces if they bring evidence and can show her a cleared tunnel --

As dawn breaks over the Frost Peak mountains, a figure slowly emerges from the pass. Silently, and with much apparent effort, the diminutive gnome makes his way into Nashkel bringing along the body of a dwarf in heavy plate armor. He speaks quickly and flatly to one of the guards to seek and inform Glaustigan and Finellen, then carries the body a few steps more under a dry covering, sitting constant vigil.

-- Whitewolf after learning the identity of the dead dwarf stays with the body as well. She is never to be found far from the situation. --
