and the offended party risks an Infra strike themselves if they publically post material without the sender's permission.
Due specifically to Rusty's actions, this was reversed about a year ago. One can post publicly what is presented in a PM without fear of administrative penalties.

You guys are right that PMs can be used as a utility to ridicule, insult, belittle, and harass. But since they no longer offer the protection of privacy, an abuser can definitely end up with an infra strike or permanent ban. As such, as long as everyone knows PMs are no longer protected by the administration, they can serve as a good means to resolve issues between two parties.

Edited -- Wynna

Do not post vulgar abusive comments designed to incite. One more of any sort in any thread will result in a recommendation for an infra strike, Helios.

and this is why we need active mods who actually do their job...

Helios, if thats what you truly think you should probably find a PW that you enjoy. Posting defamatory remarks such as that honestly should get you a nice infra strike, but thats not up to me. We seem to have let the horse out of the barn, so to speak, of late. Anyone can pretty much say whatever they feel like and get away with it.

I can honestly say I truly understand why a lot of folks just simply dont want to do anything for ALFA anymore when folks make stupid comments like that.

Best thing I've found to do is just take regular breaks. There's so much burnout apparent here, so many frayed emotions. Some people can barely contain their disappointment, frustration, dismay or outright hatred. Been there, done that. Get away for a bit, come back later. And like Dorn says, chill. We're all a little too old now to not find it amusing and silly to wach tempers fly out of control.

The truth is most people, if they're still here, are loved. Even fluff. Maybe not by everyone, (Misty does not love me, I can tell) but by at least some. Feel the love a bit more, and if you're concerned about someone fraying at the edges, show them a little love.

You can get away with talking to people and voicing your opinions on ALFA's forums in a way that is totally unacceptable on every other worlds forums I've come across.

When I left ALFA and went playing other places I was champion at getting threads locked and got banned from a bunch of forums for stuff that wouldn't get a notice here. In ALFA it was common behaviour to stick up for yourself and say your mind every other forum post but freedom of speech is so rediculous here that it allows people to just churn out their worst emotions into words without second thought because there is very little consequences.

In short I had to unlearn being an ALFAn and tame myself.

You need someone in ALFA who does nothing but look at the way people talk in the forums and without care of who the person is or what their role in ALFA is or their importance, dishes out painful forums bannings for periods of time for any indecent or rude behaviour of a level beneath decent conversation.

If it screws someone regarding their role in ALFA then that person will have to face the consequences and let someone more polite carry out that role for a while or indefinitly until they learn to be civil.

You'll find you all start to treat others the way you'd like to be treated quite quickly and in doing so you'll all find people are treating you the way you'd like to be treated.

This sort of thing requires taking the bull by the horns though and with so many bulls in ALFA that is a lot of horns and some very brave hands.

You may thank me later for my infinite wisdom.

Cynon out.
