There are some standards for these shots, in order for them to be technically useful and to live up to their purpose:
1) They need to represent their subject.
2) They can't have someone or something else stealing the spotlight.
3) They must be at least 1600 x 800. I won't stretch a smaller image, because it'll look awful; I'll happily crop a bigger one, though.
4) Color quality needs to be at least 24 bit; I won't use a low-color one, but I'm perfectly happy to dial back from 32.
5) The sceenshots should come from actual gameplay; toolset screenshots tend to go wonky in a few ways that will make it doubleplus ungood in application.
6) They can't have frames or framelike embellishments (though if you were to use some photowitchery to remove a character from a place-specific screenshot or tweak its focus/ lighting/ whatnot to try to get the locale's "feel," that's totally cool); we're going to use these in a context where it would be a frame inside a frame inside a frame (inside a window) if you did that, and a portrait of Xzibit becomes mandatory at that point.
7) Artsy and/or fartsy strategies are welcome; these don't need to be "functional," and a viewer need not be able to recognize specific details beyond being able to, overall, identify the location. If we get competing screenshots, we'll use the one that's better at capturing the "essence" of the location (not that I expect this to happen frequently).
The first wave of these are looking for shots to represent ALFA's build of:
1) Silverymoon (TSM)
2) Citadel Felbarr (TSM)
3) High Hold (TSM)
4) Rivermoot (TSM)
5) Baldur's Gate (BG)
6) Beregost (BG)
7) Nashkel (BG)

9) Caer Corwell (MS)
10) Skaug (MS)
11) The Dungeon of the Ruins (TSM)
12) The Lady's College (TSM)
<this list will surely expand in coming days>
Also, folks who've been testing or been familiar with WHL: if you know of good locales that would make a sound "teaser" for the server, and would showcase the unique and interesting things about it, I would also be looking for a few of those.
