I wonder, should there maybe be two sword fight contests? For beginners and experts?

Last year there were 3 tiered combat and archery sections within each event.

Novice, Medium, and Expert classes. (based on level if i recall).

Novice was like...level 1-4 i think, 5-8, and 9+... i think maybe 5-7 in medium class... *shrugs*

Sounds fine by me if we have the numbers.

One for the bumblers, one for the killers.

Early in the eve to the festival, a young man enters the fairgrounds. He pulls a small cart. Being so early, he selects a choice spot. He takes a small table from the cart and sets it down. From the cart, he removes loaves of bread and sets them on the table. Next, he lifts a barrel of ale and places it on top of the cart.

Finally, he hangs a simple sign... "Lowhill's Finest and Bread."

Tired but wide eyed, he waits...

I just want to give people a heads up, I have to head out for a bit and I MAY not be back by noon PST, which is the time when archery begins. I ask that a back up ref be on stand by just in case.

For sure would be back by the time of the pie eating and arm wresting contests.

Also, there will be a grand melee at the end.

Winners are announced for some of the events:
Wrestling, won by Drake
Pie Eating, won by Rani
Grand Melee, won by Rani, Rhianna, Kalix, and Sweetwater
Boxing, won by April (NPC)

... I'm forgetting others. Other people, though, should totally boast about achievements; winners of contests would be spoken about among the isles, and easy for anyone to learn.

((totally think Bu should have been allowed to eat pies in Brown Bear form = automatic win! Ha! And Robert should have gotten +2 for *ahem* horizontally endowed physical frame-bonus, and the Hin at least +4 LOTR "hobbit eating ability/skill bonus"... JUST KIDDING EVERYONE! was the best fun of the weekend, the pie eating contest! Cheers!))

Jax is already boasting about her acheivements, even though it didn't get her a first place.
pragmatic (adj.)
The opposite of idealistic is pragmatic, a word that describes a philosophy of "doing what works best."
From Greek pragma "deed," the word has historically described philosophers and politicians who were
concerned more with real-world application of ideas than with abstract notions. A pragmatic person
is sensible, grounded, and practical.

The blue skinned Genasi calling himself Zyrus took first place in the sword and first place in the expert round of the archery contest.
First Character: Zyrus Meynolt, the serene Water Genasi berserker. "I am the embodiment of the oceans; serene until you summon the storm." Zyrus: http://tinyurl.com/9emdbnd

Second Character: Damien Collins, the atypical druid. "What? Being a stick in the mud is boring. No pun intended grins"
