Anyway as we see from my age poll we no longer have "under age" people around here.

Let's discuss this a bit and then have a poll to decide if we:
- go 18+;
- put up a GTA-like sticker;
- strictly enforce PG-13 and ban all form of violence and sex (which might be quite difficult to do technically);

If you see other solutions please post them here.

Or there may be those under 18 who are not allowed to see the forums or go into chat given the stuff said in both places. Just saying

Not to stir up trouble here, but by way of offering some history and perspective, a few thoughts. There are a number of laws regarding predatory behavior and lewd conduct with minors that could result in civil if not criminal actions against ALFA's administration and/or the hosts of the servers and chat rooms. Unless you're going to institute safeguards for age verification, security measures against harrassment, and liability protection efforts, I would urge caution against the presumption that every participant in ALFA is a well-adjusted adult.

This topic came up more than once during the reformation of ALFA, and I am aware of at least two potentially damaging incidents, and one other case where legal action was taken regarding ALFA's operation (though thankfully in that case it was for the benefit of ALFA). The bottom line we all agreed to abide is that ALFA is a gaming community, and certain kinds of "role playing" was simply not worth the risk. Any administrative effort to protect that environment should be welcomed as a necessary safe-guard against those problems.

Bah, the stupid web site ate my response. Mikala is one, and she begrudgingly conceded it was a risky idea not to exclude it. I consulted my in-house counsel for my company which hosts 30,000 web sites: without the ability to verify age (usually done by credit card processing prohibited by NWN EULA), it was an undue risk, so we created a policy based upon that. Plenty of plot lines without it.
