I've really enjoyed occasions when two separate parties, on totally separate quests (or sometimes opposing quests), unexpectedly stumble into one another in dungeons or caverns. Those are fun.

Similar (but slightly different) was the first big event on TSM in ALFA NWN2. The crypts of Rivermoot had been fouled by undead and, rather than join together, the PCs rapidlly splintered into factions each trying to take credit for their victory and make the other look bad or take losses.

The Banites were quietly giving instruction to let the Helmites fall if they were injured. The Helmites were giving commands to their followers to ignore the order given by the Red Knight followers..

A party of like 15 PCs in an absolute power and leadership vacauum.

I'm sure wynna hated us all....but it was fun :)

I have to say, that was the best example of ignoring meta i've seen. All of the wayfarer players knew OOC he was an evil bastard and would turn on on us for months and months a...and years? But the PCs played on heh
That was some awesome RP without meta. Fought along side the good guys as a front to gain there trust. I don't think Dorn or anyone truly trusted truly trusted Marcus or Joe.
But the RP value of that is priceless. Sneaking in the potion at the temple was great.. Thanks Borgia.. I was sweating IRL during that one. And what kills him.. lag spike on Daggerford. Or was it KARMA....

I'd like to chip in my two cents to such an interesting thread.

NwN1 days:

The drow war on SD. After more than a year, we finally managed to break the enemy and my PC cut the Big Bad down personally. Perhaps a minute or so after this he got hit with a fireball from JenWa as she tried to "cremate the body", nearly killing my already seriously wounded PC who lacked even a Cure Minor Wounds after the battle.

That time Ronan cast Hellball on me in the middle of Ashabenford.

Saved an NPC from having to sacrifice herself in the casting a suicidal high magic banishment ritual by taking down an epic level outsider the hard way. Started things off with a Harm in the middle of the outsider's monologue and whittled him down the rest of the way with good coordination by the entire party.

NwN2 days:

Using a combination of attack rolls and balance checks to fence Kaleb while standing atop a fence.

Spending probably a solid hour making stone puns when Kaleb got petrified.

Trying to figure out what made Scisha tick.

Getting abandoned in a hag's den by team goody when they decided halfway through a job that it was too sketchy, and then completing said job alone and getting paid for all five.

One of the players whined about that one to me a day or so later saying 'Alex should have died' or something like that. I forgot the player and the PCs name... it was the blacksmiths daughter fighter type.

Basically went along the lines of the DM shouldn't have given ALex a way out or something. I didn't see the player after that. It was a trivial complaint considering the group mix, but meh.

For my favorite moment... had to be during a job with Fox and a couple team duncan PCs. Went into the sewers with the intention of retrieving stuff. Zyrus ended up cornered with two massive spiders and the way to him blocked by web. I only survived that with tons of potions and Fox managing a reflex save to flank the caster spider.

Mamoulian trying to intimidate Zyrus after, then him popping an invis when Zyrus got in his face was awesomely stupid. Earned Zyrus' eternal fury to this day. I would love to find his grave/death site IC.
First Character: Zyrus Meynolt, the serene Water Genasi berserker. "I am the embodiment of the oceans; serene until you summon the storm." Zyrus: http://tinyurl.com/9emdbnd

Second Character: Damien Collins, the atypical druid. "What? Being a stick in the mud is boring. No pun intended grins"

Any day in NWN1 Sembia when my PC was able to force other PCs to dress in outrageous looking Foxmantle colors (purple and gold), was a good day. Here, wear this awful outfit and escort me to Scardale, this needs to look official. Even if you are all thieves' guild enforcers, just keep this shiny helm on, no one knows you in the Dales.

Plenty of good NWN2 moments to be sure. A fairly recent good one was Rhaggot knowing enough to keep his mouth shut in anything resembling diplomacy with Ducal sorts, then somehow having or feeling compelled to pitch in on a "martial" type topic, doing so in front of Eltan and Belt. Diplo roll? 20. That fine half-orc chap seems confident in his opinions, doesn't he? Let's give him the pick of our daughters!

(EDIT: Daughter part in Rhaggot's own mind. Dukes need strong sons.)
ALFA NWN2 PCs: Rhaggot of the Bruised-Eye, and Bamshogbo
ALFA NWN1 PC: Jacobim Foxmantle
ALFA NWN1 Dead PC: Jon Shieldjack

Get back in game Evro, ALFA needs a crime spree, or whatever brand of RP goodness you're in the mood for.
The one that took place just after Live was epic, even when viewed from afar.

:-)

*grins*
You were like 2 pixels too close!!
That's why I generally prefered protection spells! ;)

Ithildur already wrote about two of my favorite moments on NWN1:
- The trip to Waterdeep (during which most people crashed at least once, and some repeatedly, while going through Baldur's Gate; And the dreaded hex system separating the party on my occasions) which ended at 1am for us on the East Coast.
- That crazy week-end in West Gate!

I'll add:
- JenWa slapping Corwyn and making a scene right by the tree, next to the inn in Shadowdale :D
NWN1 PC:
Now (2017): Bran, naive servant of Lathander, currently thinking about opening a potion shop.
circa 2000: JenWa, proud mother duck and half-crazed sorceress of Shadowdale.

NW2 PC: Kasil Trueforger, dwarven scholar of Felbarr.

Garlus Ironbeard: [d] I was sure there was a reason we brought you along.
Kevorn Trueforger: [d] I'm da funny one and ye're da smart one.

My favourite ALFA moment...

...is whenever I get to participate in a meaningful session instead of having to preside over dispute appeals.

Solution: Install a cold and heartless bastard unafraid to deal justice like thunderbolts from the heavens with no accounting for ALFAn's delicate sensibilities as your second.
Heero just pawn in game of life.
