The other day I watched by the forums as one player 'no names needed' traversed to three different servers over a span of 8 hours.
3 servers in 8 hours... how...?

I do not see a problem with 30 Days, it's there to prevent meta CvC mostly. e.g. bringing your lvl 10 Stompy over to get involved in a fight which you might otherwise lose with your other PC.
Of course the usual ALFA recourse is a cross server tell, telephone call, or irc nudge to get your high level buddy to move over. 2PCs just makes it easier since you don't have to ask a favor.
To me both of these examples are metagaming and cheating of the worst sort.
If one of my PC's gets stomped then suddenly my higher lvl toon has a mysterious urge to travel for weeks in game and arrive at the site of said stomping acting like a troll with a toothache on pms until another fight is provoked would be a bit easy to spot huh? Or even something more subtle. Should not be hard to look at that and say heyyyyy!
I like the friendly player trust alfa better. If anything silly like that is detected then have a rule that the sitting group of admins can overturn a meta gank to eliminate this possiblity. I am for less rules in general and trust DM's to resolve most issues (if you can't trust them to do that then why make them a DM?) but a few common sense rules that give us a framework to go off is required. rules lawyers are a pain in the butt however without them chaos reigns and nothing positive happens. Same happens with too many rules without flexibility. ALFA should continue to lean towards the honor system I hope that all players agree on that (yes by players I mean eveyone DM's, and admin alike even if they do not have a current PC). A CvC smells fishy? then have the DM wait until the HDM can look at the facts before proceeding. If both sides of the conflict agree with the CvC then no HDM intervention required and then by all means touch gloves and come out fighting. Got a beef with the DM conducting the CvC then ask for the server's HDM to ref it. Got a beef with the HDM then go with Curm or whoever is wearing his hat at that time but it begs the question of what the hell your PC doing there when you can't trust the site's HDM? Really just basic common sense can rule the day here.
I agree with you witch, but every time I try and exert DM authority here I get the ALFA rule book tossed in my face or I get cursed at by players or both.

You're All a Bunch of Damn Hippies
Suppose I could curse at you as well though I really don't have a reason other than just to keep you in a familiar environment.
If I was the server HDM then I would visit a squad of undead fendish giant ogre magi with a buggery fetish on those insolent enough to curse at me. Guess the powers that be are smart enough not to trust me with that honor, or hey... didn't they just pick a fight with the dm avatar
