getting an email alert when you receive a pm

I can set up specfic forums to generate an email to me when there's a new post. Can we do the same with new pms?

In your profile you tick a box somewhere that can alert you for PMs. I know you can also for specific threads, again ticking a box this time when you post, but not sure for entire forums. Will go and check.

Ah! I remembered you can for entire forums. I've got one forum set like that.

Anywya, in your User Control Panel, click board perferences and the option you want to tick is:
Notify me on new private messages:

For individual threads, if you look at the tick boxes below the posting window, the option you want is:
Notify me when a reply is posted

And for forums, if you open it up and down the very bottom of the screen you'll see Subscribe to this Forum.

I have 'notify on pms sent' ticked off in the user interface pannel but I'm not seeing pms alert on my email.. just forums.

Just checked your user preferences. They're listed the same as mine, as far as PMs go, so you should be getting them.

I get notification of Pm's in my e-mal..sometimes you have to check your spam box..if they go there tell your e-mail to accept all messages from this website I had to do that once..since then they all go to my In-box
