A Land Far Away

The central infrastructure of ALFA (website, forum, databases) will move to a new server on January 2, 2011.
This means that everything (including game servers but not IRC) will be down for hopefully just a few hours.

We plan for this to happen at the following times:
8AM PST = 11AM EST = 4PM GMT/London = 5PM in Berlin/Paris = 3AM (January the 3rd) in Sydney = 5AM (January the 3rd) in Auckland.

Thank you again to everyone who donated to pay for this new server.

I will post about this later on to remind everyone.

As always, thanks for your behind the scenes efforts to keep my playground open!

Here are the people you need to thank (beside me but you don't "need" to thank me because I got elected to do this ):
- Zicada for the old website, TSM, the vault and for helping me when I'm stuck with something Linux that I don't know;
- Murky for paying and managing the alandfaraway.org domain;
- AcadiusLost for managing all the game server side of the infrastructure and the vault;
- Curmudgeon for the game server side as well and for providing (and paying for) the FTP servers (DM and Technical);
- Roekemoes for his expertise on the website;
- and of course the people who donated for the infra.

I hope I didn't forget anyone but if I did I'll whip my back and thank them twice.

Back up on the new host.

We'll have some problems with links going back to alandfaraway.org but hopefully everything will be okay soon.

I have asked Murky Majare (who owns alandfaraway.org) to point to this new host. Once this is done we'll be back on alandfaraway.org.
