Exit..Stage Left (in the voice of Snaggletooth)
With elections upon us once again, and myself not running for the Office, a farewell from the Office of the PA is due. I came into the office with a clear vision that didn’t see full fruition, but I think some major progress has been attained as far as the community as a whole in the last six months. I’ve set things in motion for the next PA that will continue to see ALFA progress.
Leaving out the handling of player issues and infractions, I’ve been able with the time allotted to take a large step forward within the Office itself. Temporary Retirement is now possible, though the requirements for it are certainly up for review for the future PA. R-18 rules have been put into play and codified to further protect players from content that may lessen their gaming experience. As well, decisions have been reached that were not readily available before this term, as now one can not have two PRC’s for one PC, as well as handling the issue of Exodus PC’s and if they are to be allowed into ALFA. As well, rulings on exploits such as invisibility, or crafting, have been made public until such time as these exploits can be fixed.
Player Groups have been established and overseen, all with appropriate moderators. As well, the Drupal pages concerning base and prestige classes have been updated to accurately reflect our new skillsets. I currently have someone looking into the 2da changes as far as diety favored weapons to update those changes as well.
For the Future, I have someone looking into any old information on RP101 we might have stored away for a revival of the program. I also have lined up a server on which to Host OAS2 which has also been stored upon the dmftp for bringing back as well. Lastly, I’ve set forth an initiative in a conjoined effort with the TA as well as DMA for a dim ret system for experience to reign in outliers of xp earners that we might continue to fulfill the standards for which we set for this community. This will in effect erase occurances of farming as well as slow fast leveling.
I will be offering the future PA my time and assistance as far as getting rp101 as well as OAS2 set up. I already have volunteers for both projects, as rp101 instructors as well as OAS2 DMs. My hope in coming into the office was to see both of these come to fruition…sadly other items took up my time. I feel it is better if I spend my soul time volunteering on these two projects as well as DMing when not playing so that the future PA has less overall to worry over.
I would like to thank the various personages who’ve helped me during the term. Regas has been invaluable as Head of AR’s as far as offering guidance, and being willing to assist in anything I might need, weather discussions on infractions or direction of the Office in reguards to the community. As well, the AR team has been extremely helpful as always, during my tenure. Kidd whom I owe thanks to for sifting through the 2da files, making updating the drupal information we have possible. I would like to thank Mad Max for his efforts in contacting older members in reguards to ALFA. A great appreciation goes to both Paazin and Riot for their implementation of the SQL program, making logs a bit easier to deal with, bravo to you two. Especially Riot for running information for me, as well as introducing me to its use. Thanks to Aitana and the applications team for making my job as PA that much easier as far as applications…if only everything could run as smoothly we’d have a beast of an Office.
A big thanks to my other Admin. Patrice, whom I hear so little from but whose help was always there immediately when I needed it; without his major effort we would have had serious trouble getting Temporary Retirement off the ground. Zelknolf, whose tireless effort has helped me more than a few times in my duties, especially with the most recent figures pulled for our dim ret system; an invaluable assistor in mathematics as well as game balance. Curmudgeon, whose conservative approach to the community I respect, for no heavy decision should be made quickly or lightly. Veilan, whose “HEY DUMBASS” call helped me out more than once; a great councilor and a great visionary for the community. Thanks to you guys, you made being an Admin that much easier. It was a pleasure to work with each of you.
A big thanks to all of the above, the community is that much stronger because each of you have taken the time out of the day, and your life, to volunteer for this project. Which is, when you boil it all down, the only reason I truly ran for Admin…I knew that there were things to be done, the former PA deserved a break, and that I would be working with some awesome people. May the community continue to grow, feel the pains of the growth, and adapt while keeping its old spirit strong.

Re: Exit..Stage Left (in the voice of Snaggletooth)
No offense to anyone else previously, but you are the best PA we had in the last three years.
You did so much stuff and you finished up 100 loose ends while you were at it even when you were constantly being told one thing in one ear and something completely contrary in the other ear. I'd like to think logic prevailed.
Now you get a chance to just sit back and play.

Thanks, Dan!
If you need more DMs on OAS2 I might be able to give that a try. I liked it back in the NWN1 days well enough

Thank you, Dan. Think you've been a great PA, I hope you get to actually enjoying the game more.

This thread sucks.
I am glad for the little I helped out Dan, and will continue once there is another source for buying the game that I can send past members to.
You rock.

Re: Exit..Stage Left (in the voice of Snaggletooth)
Thanks Dan the only upside I see to you not running again is that maybe you'll have more time to play. You've done a great job IMHO
Re: Exit..Stage Left (in the voice of Snaggletooth)
Cheers and thank you very much Dan, great job indeed.

Thanks Dan, you were a pleasure to work with. You really did an amazing job this past six months, but I didn't expect anything less from you anyway.
Hugs!

When I am PA, I will make it legal to PK Danielmn's PCs.
