A Land Far Away

Hi Folks,

I'm starting a new campaign for new PC's in 2013.

I'll initially be starting in TSM then take it to MS for a while before (all things going well) being able to potentially send the group (or players) to BG and WHL to do some stuff there with another dm(s) before regathering for more adventure.

This is open to all races and alignments, the only restriction is on level. Prefer new or recent pcs, as it keeps the level spread down and means every one gets challenged.

So far I have two confirmed Players - Heero and "Special guest star". More are sought.

I'll aim for 1 session every weekend - if work allows. It'll happen (all EST times) Friday night, Sat morn, Sat eve, or Sunday morn. A 3-4 hour session. I will likely miss some sessions sooner or later because of work but will try to make them up during the week if possible.

I'll be aiming to mix both character development and plenty of adventure! I do request of any pcs that they keep their off session XP to a similar level to their group peers - so no pc gets left behind. A lvl or 2 difference is ok.

I puzzled over this mightily, and at first thought I had the answer. Yes. For if it lands on my nose, I feel the breeze on my face. Now, imagine I was perfectly balanced on a tree limb and this was enough to send me toppling one way or another to my death. As I fall I startle a flock of pigeons which take to the sky. The pigeons are pursued by a griffon from the imperial tower. Far out to sea it catches one, and eats, beginning to fly home. Alas, it becomes ever so slightly slower because of the pigeon weight and it is caught by a mighty red dragon. The dragon is pleased with its meal and in celebration sets the world aflame, plunging the forests and prairies into an inferno that rages a hundred years, covering the world in smoke and ash.

Should I fear the dragon then?

I could be interested in this depending on what time you opt for. Level 1 faildwarf.

Times are a bit unsure at the moment, it will depend on what agreements i end up making with work, and they'll likely fluctuate during the year. Sometimes I wont be able to make sessions as well either, as i'll be in areas with lousy reception.

I am eager to join, lv1 druid atm. Though I'm unsure about having time, since exams in college are around the corner.

Rumple, any preference between half-elf [META] swordsman or AuDorf? I've got to the dorf rolled obviously, but TSM is seemingly overflowing with stouts.

It's a shame because I'm in such a middle-ground for this. Not high enough level to be considered "too high," but not so low that she is considered "too low/just right".

I hope to run this out over the better part of a year? The PC's will no doubt reach a reasonable level. RL and IC stuff wil no doubt claim some players and there will be opportunity to take on new players of comparable ability. There may also be times where the party may employ henchmen/PC specialists of their own if they judge it wise.

I think Golinar the gold dwarf would like to toss his helm into the mix.

Up to you Ronan. I suspect we have a Dorf in the mix allready.

Half elf could work in well, though i am curious about the [META] part.

I may have to hold tight on more players until the dust settles and we see how many folk can make it/will stick with it. I expect there will be one or two more openings at least.

On a side note i am completely open to out of the box solutions for in game stuff. Orcs charging along a rope bridge? Feel free to bounce up and down on it to see if you can mess with their balance, or cut it Indiana Jones style. Want to trip up that ogre? Get your dorf crouched behind his knees and everyone charge! Need to climb that 30ft wall? Stick a pc (probably that half elf) on the end of a bamboo pole and hoist him up there.

If you can dream it, we can try it!
