I have the bandwidth but no computer, and after paying the taxes with borrowed money, not in a position to buy a computer. I am capable of building one however. So spare parts are welcome. Would help if someone posted a spec list first and then started sourcing parts.
I think we need a quad core on a mother board with 4 GB at least?
1. tiny cheap piece of crap LCD monitor
2. that old mouse you hate
3. a beater of a keyboard
4. a case that fits the MB
5. I have my old video card someplace....
IM me for the address to mail parts to.

I'm in the process of building a new PC. I can happily just ship the old PC barebones to you once the new one is running. (I'd keep the HDs, sound card, and possibly the PSU. You'd need to replace the fan on the CPU heatsink) It's a solid system with 4GB of ram you can add on if you really need.
I'll get the sytem specs together sometime soonish. I'm sure there's a program I can just copy paste from.

Castano, not sure how to send it to you, but, I am very happy to send you cold hard cash so you can bloody buy some of those parts new. Or used. Or just grab a few dozen beer for your next BBQ? It's all just money.
Let's get WHL BACK UP.
Bu needs to talk to that Lizardfreak feller about sumpthin'.......

There is cash in the ALFA paypal account if there are parts that cannot be scavenged, or costs associated with hosting.

Have an old stand-by comp myself, though likely far outdated as to what you need. Still have the keyboard/moniter/mouse/casing ect. If any of that is needed after Adanu's generous contribution, let me know.

Adanu, sounds like you have a good rig...what type of CPU.
What i would love to buy if we buy anything is an SSD drive...those things make hosting a breeze

I sent the system specs to you castano. I was originally going to sell this to another, but whatever.

For the record, I'd be shipping a case, motherboard, CPU, RAM, PSU. I'd keep the video card to sell (you can use the onboard if it's only for hosting, if you want it too, we'll see) the sound card, HDs, and the CD/DVD ROM.
As it is, the components I need to build a new system would cost me $550, and I was planning to deal with this next month.

That works Adanu. I want to get with ALFA to see if we can buy an SSD drive for the system.

Will kick in funds if required. Let me know. Actually would be a great idea to put in ssd and other speed and reliablity related hardware for all the servers. I would be willing to support that as well if we can come up with a total estimate for it. Set a target goal and I am sure we can meet it.

MS is on an SSD. TSM and BG appear stable as is, not sure we "need" SSD's just would like the next host box to be as advanced as possible so we can expand mods freely etc.
