Static Quest Difficulty

Post by indio »

What static level should a module designed now make its quests? I can recall many quests on TSM designed for level 1-4. What sort of difficulty level would make it enjoyable for the current PCs?

statics run the gamut, look at BG's...they have everything from fetch quests for lvl 1's to kill these frost giants...

I'd say generally you want to make something of a reverse exponential relation between number of quests and level. That's sort of the method I've used for quest generation on BG: many low level quests and as you advance fewer are available at your level.

The main intent is to tackle the low-level blues and get people to depend on RP xp and DM quests.
People talk of bestial cruelty, but that's a great injustice and insult to the beasts; a beast can never be so cruel as man, so artistically cruel.
