What time is it?

Post by Wild Wombat »

As a sideways segue to my "What year is it?" question ( http://www.alandfaraway.info/phpBB3/vie ... 83&t=52216) ...

What is the ratio between game time and RL time. In other words, how many minutes in RL does it take for 24 hours to pass on Waterdeep? Or, if it is easier, how many minutes RL does it take for one hour of game time to pass? (I used to know all of this stuff!)
Retired NWN1: Murgen Kjarnisteinn (AKA Grumpy Scout)

NWN2 (Failed Experiment): Muir Cheartach, AKA The Pale Faced Pie Man

R.I.P.: Croaker Lyosbarr, Knight of Yartar, Lord of Lhuvenhead (NWN1)

I've always figured on "comic book time". That is while a lot happens (even a few days sometimes) during sessions, we otherwise figure that a RL day = a game day.

In other words, don't worry about the time really.
There's a place I like to hide
A doorway that I run through in the night
Relax child, you were there
But only didn't realize and you were scared
It's a place where you will learn
To face your fears, retrace the years
And ride the whims of your mind

I think WW may be referring to game mechanics. And I’m not sure, but when it just turns 18 and I want to map the last bits of the north ward, the answer is, “too long.”

FWIW when my toon refers to a day or a tenday, I usually mean RL day or RL week. Unless within a single session, when I stick to game time.
Currently laying the smackdown on Faerun as: Keryn Tel'Jora, who is XXX-TREME!!!.
Currently explaining the meaninglessness of it all as Vizian Nazyr.
Currently pointing out all other characters' shortcomings as Stephen the Archer.

I think it's 7 min per RL hour.

It looks like it's 8 minutes RL.
If the enemy is an ass and a fool and a rating
coxcomb, is it meet, think you, that we should also,
look you, be an ass and a fool and a prating
coxcomb? in your own conscience, now?

Former Characters:

(Waterdeep/Daggerford): Angus Porter, Cleric of Torm (aka the Slipshod Sergeant)
