Goblin chests now bashable, more common...

Post by ayergo »

but if you bash them there's a good chance you'll destroy some/all of the loot inside. You will likely need power attack as well.

You will probably find much less loot in the rat hills, particularly after you hit level 5.
There's a place I like to hide
A doorway that I run through in the night
Relax child, you were there
But only didn't realize and you were scared
It's a place where you will learn
To face your fears, retrace the years
And ride the whims of your mind

Keryn and Jackman succeeded in bashing a couple of goblin chests. It took a thermonuclear device but really enjoyed the fireworks.

Surprised your trident wasn't enough. I've seen Jackman dish out some crazy damage with that pig-sticker.

The wolves can do it, but it took two, and at least two criticals. The DR on those things is legit. I threw a bunch of acid flasks and alchemist’s fires at the first trying to open it and some spells. Hackman finally had to sing and use his trident. One copper ring was found. The second, which took the two wolves, gave an aventurine.

When Arryn couldn’t touch the chests last night, we just moved along. I will say though that having an option at all that doesn’t require a rogue with serious lock picking makes it feel better than just having genuinely invincible chests.
Currently laying the smackdown on Faerun as: Keryn Tel'Jora, who is XXX-TREME!!!.
Currently explaining the meaninglessness of it all as Vizian Nazyr.
Currently pointing out all other characters' shortcomings as Stephen the Archer.

Yeah, bashing destroys about 2/3 of the loot in there.

In my testing I found a +1 short sword, so you can get lucky. :) :assault:

Damn. I didn’t realize that level of loot was possible in those at all. Alright then.

If Goblins can kidnap babies with impunity, I am not surprised that they have broken into higher end stores and homes as well. A problem that could easily be solved by hiring capable dwarf fighters and engineers. And appointing one as minister of defense and another minister of homeland security. I am sure that a suitable candidate can be found.

Just sayin.

Toliv and Uda spent like a half hour it seemed bashing one chest that yielded . . . . zero loot

Get a rogue to increase loot odds. :)

We were lookin for wee little babbies to save.

I'm amazed 2 summoned dire wolves could open a chest (if they're all the same), Uda and Toliv smashed it for a VERY long time.
