Bloody Dawn at the Spires of the Morning

As had become his regular practice of late, Wayfarer had spent the night in the North of the City. He was tired, but proud of his accomplishments having closed two strange portals and destroyed a number of imps. It had been a long night.
As the sky began to grow pale in the East he smiled a bit, and started to make his way towards the Temple of Lathander, where he had also of late come to enjoy the morning bells that pealed out from the SPires of the Morning each day to announce the dawn.
But today brought Wayfarer not joy but instead a shocking site. Not steps from the the entrance to the Morninglord's Temple lay a dead man, rended by claws and badly burned. Wayfarer knew the death was fresh from the scent of burned flesh.
After a moment he realized he recognized the man...... it was Cullen Flynn, the minstrel.
This would not be a joyous morning at the Spires. Instead of enjoying the serenity of the Morninglord's dawn prayers, Trailyn picked up the body of Cullen Flynn and brought him to the high priest.
Just as he crossed the threshold with the body, the sun's rays crested from East signalling the dawn. And just as quickly they were extinguished by thick blacks clouds as rain began to fall. A dark morning indeed.

OOC - Looks like Cullen got whapped by an imp/mephit right at the Temple. Brought him in to attempt a raise but script seems nonfunctional/ disabled without a DM.

Hysterically .... the Acoloytes and Priests of Lathander wasted no time looting the body repeatedly and giving dialogue.
"Bless you for your generous donation to the church!"
"I shall make sure these funds go to a local orphanage"
"I'll need a larger alms plate for this one, Brother Henri!"
"Salvation is assured. Though you lay in a heap before me, your goods do good even after your passing, yea verily, amen."
