Hi campers!

More pictures, please! Some of us who didn't hand in our permission forms on time and missed the field trip would love to live vicariously. :)

Cheers,

Peter

Lol, I so suck at forums... this was the first I've seen this thread. And I was at the ECAC, and had fun.

Nice to meet you all. Looking forward to the next already.

And now...

*drumroll*

The ECAC awards!

Acadius recieves the Everlasting Alchemical pantaloons!

These pantaloons appear to be normal in every way. When worn, their magical qualities are easily detected, as extra padding around the bottocks area gives the wearer a +10 to ride. The wearer also benefits with the additional magical property of the pantaloons never breaking pockets! Anything stored in these recepticals is automatically cushioned and protected, making it an alchemists dream! Moreover, it serves the added benefit of cleansing any object placed within these recepticals with alcohol! This gives +5 to Craft Alchemy. However, the pantaloons also have a hidden curse, making the wearer susceptible to many deaths when playing Borderlands.

Loulabelle recieves the Cloak of the Crab!

This cloak, made from the feathers of Harpies, is altogether a frightening thing to behold. While the feathers tend to blend with the darkness, making the wearer hard to see (+5 Hide) it also lends the unfortunate side effect of the wearer growing crab like claws where their hands are. The claws even smell strongly of crab!! The claws are especially effective in intimidating children below the age of 10. (+5 intimidate, age conditional)

Heero recieves the Mighty Hammer of Crustation Deconstruction!

...the name is extremely deceptive, as there is nothing mighty about this hammer. Being the size of a pointer finger, there is little in the way of any damage it could do to anything threatening, such as a goblin or an orc. HOWEVER, when this hammer falls upon any crustation, it ALWAYS crits upon impact. There is a forge sigil denoting the maker of the Hammer, an obscure Gnome by the name of Nad E Bo.

Gonz.0 recieves the Belt of Preparedness!

This belt's magical properties at first are somewhat vague...however, the wearer of the belt will eventually find out. Whatever the wearer needs lies within. Weather it is medicinal herbs, implements to clean ones teeth, or refreshing water, the wearer is ALWAYS prepared with any mundane object he or she needs!!!

Maxcell recieves WARDSTONE of the MOUNTAIN!

This device acts as a warning for any nearby whom may be in an encampment and or sleeping. Any intruder into the set encampment is known immediately!!! The workings of this stone is somewhat interesting, as it emmits a deep rumbling sound when the bearer is asleep...however, if anyone enters the encampment, the rumbling sound is no longer heard...for a minute or two.

Riotnrrd recieves the Blanket of warmth!

WHen folded up, this blanket takes no more than a 6 inch by 2 inch space in ones pack. It has the added benefit of having Protection from Elements permanently bestowed upon it!

Thank you all for playing in this years Grand ECAC Quest! You all gain as much xp as you needed to attain your next level!

LoL man, that's funny. Almost as funny, was the last time that joke was said, that I had that the 'Trunk of Holding' a variation on 'Hewards handy haversack'. Cursed of Never having any anything wanted able to be found, but always providing any mundane item truly needed.

Thanks for the fun.

Good times, good times.
I can attest to that. 'twas where Mrs. Wombat and I met Riot. Absolutely great time had by all.

I am so sorry that I didn't poke my head back in 6 months ago. I would have been at the Maryland Ren Fest for sure. I might even have been in period costume (but that really isn't my kind of thing under usual circumstances).

It would be awesome to see a trip to the Ren Fest expedition happen again.

There definitely needs to be another alfa-con for this year. I've only attended a few west coast cons way back in 2004!

Capelin Galadorn...you know you want them. Ask the ladies at the Sea Venture in Trepassey about the guy who paid them to cook capelin off the beach...

When the capelin roll (tens of thousands rolling up on the rocky beach shores), it is a truly awe inspiring and unique sight.

When I was living in Thailand, one of those international "Nature Shows" came on while flipping channels and it was an hour long special on the "Capelin Rolling" phenomenon back home. I cried.

Mudder would bring us to the beach, and my brother and I would go swimming with them (sub zero waters), dive in fingers spread and clench, raise our hands up and between each of the finger gaps would be a half dozen capelin.... in our hands each dive we could catch a few dozen. Slower than dip netting, or net-casting, but way more fun.

Like I said Castano, i'll be home this summer, please let me know if you are in Newfie, my mother has a house in Ferryland (famous for a major archeological Viking settlement find)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferryland
http://www.ferryland.com

...it's a magnificient little outport community built on a sloping rocky incline with a few little rocky beaches for lighting fires.
Population 465. :)
It's like a postcard.

That's where the wife and junior and I will stay for a few weeks, just sucking in the salty sea air. Mudder's boyfriend is an 88 year old retired Fisherman. He might be 88 but he's got Iron Golem strength. I can't really understand him when he speaks, but all you need to do is nod and say: "Yea." every now and then, and we're as good as gold. Harold O'Keefe is his name. He never married his whole life, and 25 years ago, he saw my mother at one of those "old fogey" ballroom dancing get-togethers or something so he talked to her and asked her out. He's so... old fashioned and out of any modern loop, when he met her for dinner in town, he presented her with elbow length white silk gloves and told my mother no beautiful woman out for dinner should not wear white silk gloves... mom was sold. :) He also has no kids, and he bonded so well with my daughter, he has since left my daughter in his will, his entire estate, the land in Ferryland, his house, even his dory (that's a boat :) ).

Heero, stop that. You're welcome anytime too.

Well your dog is.

You said St. John which is New Brunswick right?
Or did you mean "St. John's"... St. John's = Newfoundland.

Heero did you tie those flies?

I want to place an order before I get home. Where might I see your seletionne?
