I've split my vacation time in half so that I could be there (I'm off 15-25 of August). I haven't yet worked out any of the details though. Still trying to convince some friends to make that trip with me. In any case, I'm pretty sure I'll arrive earlier than the week-end.

Oh... and I do hope our beloved Lead Admin has a better cell phone than last year!!! ;)

REALLY looking forward to this!!
:D

If you want to try a different way to see the sights in Boston - how about a Duck Tour?

Here's the list so far. Please let me know if I've left your name off.

Dates are August 23 (Saturday) and 24 (Sunday) so far. Friday, August 22 is an option too, depending on when everyone gets into the city.

Next step is making sure everyone has a place to stay and a ride to get into the city. Then we'll need to decide on a place to meet.

I think I'll just book into the place that paazin recommended for the night of the 22nd and 23rd and probably look to leave for NYC or DC Sunday evening by bus/train/carpool/somehow.

I have to say that from Boston to DC on the Amtrak, going through CT was some of the nicest scenery on my trip around the States, with quaint little bayside towns and the like. Up until it hit New Jersey, at which point it went way downhill very quickly...

Not sure if you'd think it's worth the US$90-100ish to get to NY though. (US$130ish if you go to DC and get an early train)

Sit on the left side of the aisle if you take the train from Boston to NYC/DC, so you can see the coast.

There's both the Amtrak bus from NYC to Boston, and the bus ($17 each way: www.boltbus.com).

Sorry I've been quiet, my computer is suffering from dead motherboard. I'm trying to fix it now, and borrowing my roomate's computer to check in quick. I'll be back in Boston the afternoon of the 23rd, so count me in for anything that afternoon/evening, and on Sunday. Valn has my cell number, please just keep me in the loop.

All right, I'm close to making my reservations.
I plan on arriving the 21st and leaving on the 24th.
For the people outside of Boston, have you made your plans?

We haven't set any meeting points. If you like, you can PM me an e-mail address and we can use that list to exchange the info we need, like phone numbers or cell phone numbers, or any kind of "schedule". If I ever find the time, I'm planning on getting a cell phone myself.

I can't wait! :D

*bumps*

C'mon, there's a lot of people that we haven't heard from in a while on this thread. Are you still coming? *eyes Maxcell with suspicion*

When are you arriving? Where should we meet?

I should be arriving on the 21st around 6:30pm. I should leave around 2pm on the 24th.

I'm sure that I along with the rest of the locals can be pretty flexible as to what/where/when.

I'd first suggest that we get some folks together to go out on Friday night somewhere. And as far as stuff to check out, I've heard good things about the Sam Adam's and Harpoon brewery are overflowing with beery goodness.

I reserved a room at the place Paaz suggested for the 23rd. Are we meeting up sometime Saturday afternoon?
