I Was Robbed!

Post by NickD »

I was just looking for a thread that I suspect has disappeared into the annals of time/thread culling... and I found this one! http://www.alandfaraway.org/phpbbforum/ ... hp?t=24855 ( and this one has my platform in it http://www.alandfaraway.org/phpbbforum/ ... p?p=297486 )

Re-reading it, I was far and away the best candidate in that election! This place is a goddamned popularity competition, that's why it's falling to pieces! You lot are more interested in getting your precious Wynna in charge instead of electing a development stallion like me to get this place on it's feet!

Pft! The difference is I self nominated seriously. The other two candidates may have a lot of respect in the community from different cliques within the community, but let's face it, Squam is a cowboy and Wynna has no experience with starting and planning for a new software development project. And let's be real, this is a software development project. I mean she took GF's estimates at how long it would take to develop a server solo at face value! You never do that with a developer! Especially an amateur! And one of the faster amateurs with the overinflated ego of a person who is both too smart for his own good with the intellectual arrogance of a person who has been picked on a lot as a child at that!

And here I am with 4 years studying IT, in 6 days time it will be my 11th anniversary of being a computer programmer. I have worked on maybe a score of projects in a fair number of jobs as a contractor. I know what works and what doesn't work. Surprise, surprise... most of what I have said would happen has come true! A recent partial implementation of something I suggested (after the election, admittedly, as a compromise between the "we must start building immediately or we will go to another project" crowd and my own strong belief that the foundation must always be built first) has apparently revitalised the server builders recently. Over a year after I suggested it and 7 monthsish after the release of the application!

And I only got 2 votes! Half the number of votes as Burt and a third of Mord's! Two people who self nominated as jokes!

You all suck. I'm sick of you dicks.

Life would be so less frustrating if people realised that I am never wrong and just started doing whatever I told them.

Did you remember to include this in your platform when you ran, Nick?

Might have made a difference.

It was my 33rd birthday yesterday. I was feeling a bit depressed, which made that post come off a bit more crotchety than I intended...

Well, that's the problem, isn't it? No matter how many times I'm right and people still follow another track, they still don't take me seriously! I mean you'd think that just because I'm a troll most of the time people could still have some objectivity when I'm telling them how to do things properly...

It's too late now. The only time I could have saved this place from yourselves was from the start of the planning process. Now you're all doomed. DOOOOOOOOOOOOMED! :jive:

I suggest you not further embarrass yourself now, cut your losses realizing you were deemed unfit by your betters!
