Have you tried the time honoured method of making a boot disk specially for the game? :floppy:

I have no idea what a boot disk is. I had a mac for a long time till I was forced to work in wimpdoze XP, and realised that PeeCees are alot cheaper to work on.

I guess you don't have some old MS-DOS 6.22 disks laying about then. Did you try setting the "compatibility mode" property of the .EXE to "Windows 95"? Exactly what doesn't work anyway? Error messages, plz.

I can run other programs from DosBox, and some run better in Windows' DOS better, but I can't get this thing to simply install. Someone wanna try running it? :p

Here's the trick:
You don't need to install it.

Just run the game in DOSBox and it works fine, albeit silently. Once you have it running, we can work on the sound.

Works with DOSBox 7.0, with sound.

Mount c c:\
c:
chdir <darklandsdirectory>
type in "darklands" to run the exe

Wielkomen zu Deutchland und Darklands.

So far I've also downloaded x-com to see if that thing works. I got it to work after a few .... supplimental files were downloaded and copied into it's directory.

Sound, well sound works with the UrQuanMasters, and the intro to X-Com works with a soundard emulator called VMDS, but nothing else.
