Patient´s Rights

I´ve been down with lungtub infection (or whatever that´s called in medical language) for 6 weeks now.

Doctors have listened my lungs, nothing there. And I´ve told them it´s not in the lungs, but right there when you tap your ribcage. Still they insist on listening my lungs and say nothing´s there. Few docs that have listened were I pointed have heard alarming sounds.

I´ve eaten antibiotics worth to fell a rhino, but I´m still sick.

But, to the point of this post...

Today, I went to doctor again and this "lady" sent me to take the CRP bloodtest again and so on... I´ve been needled like a trainspotting junkie in these weeks...

Usual result, the values weren´t high as they weren´t few weeks ago when they were last taken, but I was still coughing...

Then all hell broke loose. The doclady started to drill me upon alcohol use first and then (almost spitting on me) started to yell on me that everybody gotta take little hurts and she doesn´t have to write me any ******* sickleaves...

I was pretty shocked at this point. A Doctor shouldn´t act like this, now?

Result is that I´m going back to work in half-condition. I almost wish I´ll get a heart-attack or something and it´ll end on her table...

I´m about to file a complaint.

What do you think?

In my experience, all doctors ever do is tell you to drink plenty of fluids and get lots of rest and then charge you $70.

At least my employer had to pay this.

I´m still filing a complaint on her.

Seriously offended.

too bad, that doctors behave like that.

Think you're right to file a complaint, and also..
find another doctor if your complaints do not go away. (not kidding, serious)

good luck with your health

FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR! This one isn't any good. Shit, you'd almost be better off with Mick as your MD ;)

Seriously though. Not all doctors are any good. Not all doctors are polite human beings. The distribution of incompetance and assholishness is no differrent than that of the general population.

You deserve a doctor that will listen and then treat you appropriately both medically and professionally.

If money is an issue, and you don't mind long lines, try a free clinic. I've had good results there and while the doctors there are tired, many do actually genuinely care about the health of their patients.

Arkan, if no one is paying attention, go to an ER or a clinic, like Vendrin suggested (preferrably one attached to a hospital). Get copies of the tests already done from the docs you've already seen (you have the right to these) so you can hand them to whoever looks you over. If you're somewhere like a hospital with the tech in house, suggest they do an imaging scan of your chest.

I'm sorry you're having so much trouble, and I hope the complaint gets the point across. Docs like that make me sick.
