I'll take that bait......
Although the Balrog has electicity immunnity, nullifyling Megatron's energy blast, his fusion cannon almost certainly breats through Balrrog's protections and damage reductions. ((I don't think they got Protection from Energy, Nuclear 30 in D&D))
Being a construct, Megatron is going to be immune to most of the Balrog's spells requiring will saves....and I see no evidence to suggest that the Balrog flames would be hugely effective.
I give the somewhat easy victory to Megatron.

Elminster, he slept with Mystra, went to hell, is over 1000 years old, and Gandalf already died.

Gandalf would win easily because Sir Ian McKellen is way more awesome than Ed Greenwood's self-insertion fantasy persona.

*coughs*
Elminster may have slept with an elder god......
But Gandalf IS an elder god.

Yeah, I think Gandalf is inherently more powerful, no matter who he has slept with?
though, where is your reference that he IS a god, dnm?

I think of Gandalf more as an angelic figure. He was created by Eru Illuvatar and sent to do his bidding in Middle Earth.
He certainly has mortal failings and is not omniscient or omnipotent. When felled by the Balrog he is sent back to try again.
Elminster might be able to win against Gandalf....but Gandalf would come back and win in the end

Clearly, we need to establish G's character sheet.
So what do we think: Celestial, or half-Celestial?
