So wanting to play something where I can RP but there are more folk around.
ALFA will remain my bestest place eva until it breathes it's last breath...but in my timezone (west australia) there's generally few people roleplaying in highfantasy games outside of MMOs....so to jyst log in and pick uyp when i have a spare hour i'm looking for a second game
I'm not naiive and i know ALFA/NWN2 model is unique and my expectations are realistic...
But:
a) Do you guys think GW2 has longevity?
b) Is it fun? or just like rift in a different skirt?
c) Have any of you played on the RP servers and if so is it not 'real' RP and not just lame over-emoting in town while sprinting aorund wiht no 'adventure RP' becasue permadeath doesn't exist
d) Has anyone who plays around austrlaian timezones (for me GMT+8) seen if there's folk on the tarnished coast(?) i thinkthe dedicated RP server is?
If the answers to the above are 'no' is there something better?

Yes. They are currently pushing out new content on a monthly basis for the game which continues to expand the story. They do not speak about numbers that much, but they obviously must be doing alright.Dorn wrote:a) Do you guys think GW2 has longevity?
Fun is entirely subjective. It is an MMO. It is not revolutionary but rather evolutionary. Not having specific quest hubs is nice, but there is still very much a flow that you follow through each zones through the quest hearts. Limited skills which are tied to the weapon you are using is nice, but for some classes it can fall down into monotony where you press the same 3 buttons for 50 levels. Did I have fun with it? Yes I did, though it did not hold my interest near as long as I thought it might though being free, it is easy enough to return to.b) Is it fun? or just like rift in a different skirt?
Much like any MMO, the vast majority of players treat it like exactly what it is: A game with very specific goals to be reached. If you want good RP, you will have to hunt down guilds specifically devoted to it.c) Have any of you played on the RP servers and if so is it not 'real' RP and not just lame over-emoting in town while sprinting aorund wiht no 'adventure RP' becasue permadeath doesn't exist
I have not played on Tarnished Coast, but this is a good site for the guilds that are active on the server. There are a few Australian guilds with a RP focus though the numbers are mostly unknown. Do not automatically discount guilds that are not tagged as Australian though, many American guilds on some GW2 servers tend to have fairly healthy Oceania populations.d) Has anyone who plays around austrlaian timezones (for me GMT+8) seen if there's folk on the tarnished coast(?) i thinkthe dedicated RP server is?

I have my hopes for Elder Scrolls online (Skyrim). I think I read somewhere it will not be out until 2014
No idea if there will be Stand alone servers or if it will be just like this new Neverwinter. . .

It's an MMO and not overly good Heegz

I want to play with you, Dorn.
Leave the wife, lets get married, get your kids, nerd them up and lets just game 24/7.
I cook well, clean so so, but you gotta bring home the bread.
Deal?
