some awful news

I was contacted unexpectedly by Nuran's girlfriend on Thursday night. She said that he had been in an accident on Tuesday and that he didn't make it. There aren't words to describe how awful this is.
Nuran was... awesome.
We played together in alfa1, alfa2, alfa beta servers and exodus. We effed about in Halo 4 and other games on xbox live. We planned our pcs' tasks over the phone and kept each other informed of what was happening in our real lives at the same time.
We're facebook friends and I found a recent picture a friend of his took of
him playing tabletop and looking like the kind of nerd I think we'd all have fun hanging out with. It breaks my heart that I'll never get to meet him in person. But it hurts more to think about his girlfriend losing him so suddenly. Anyone who played with him knows that he'd afk to greet her when she got home and it was obvious to me that he was crazy about her. They sounded like a perfect couple. If anyone wants to offer condolences or share a story about playing with Nuran, I'll absolutely pass them along to her, we're staying in touch.
But at the very least, I though people should know this. I'm sorry.

I didn't really know him, but it's a fresh reminder of our mortality...

I don't know what to say. He was my friend. We played a lot together when I started in Alfa and our characters were buddies. This is horrible.
He made me laugh so many times, knowing that Trapper had a crush on Leif. He would emote taking off his shirt, going down to the river, and running water through his hair, making sure to do so in great romance novel detail just to mess with her. I followed Leif through his early romance with Alyra and my character (and others) pushed him to act on it. And Trapper talked him into converting him to Shaundakul at one point and Lief took up the greatsword. He faded in and out and after a time, after Berendil/Audark left, our characters would meet and laugh about old times sometimes in Baldur's Gate and our last meeting in Trapper's Inn on the Moonshaes. He was a good writer, serious about D&D and roleplaying, had a great sense of humor, and his iconic character has made its way into my short stories.

Words are always inadequate at times like this. One of the good ones for certain.
Prayers for his family.

Rest in Peace friend.
I didn't know you on this side but maybe we'll meet and play on the other side.

My interactions with him were limited due to the obvious issue of timezones, but all I had were a source of entertainment, fun and mirth.
I r sad

Good guy... Bad loss. That is really awful news. Deepest condolences, always a fun "guy behind the computer" kind if scene, trying to remember what the seven to ten year running joke about squirrels or other fuzzy critters was. Again, condolences to those left behind.

At a loss for words. I didn't know him as well as others but he struck me as a genuinely nice guy with a great sense of humour, and he was always a pleasure to play with. Very sorry to hear this - thoughts are with his family and gf.

I got to play with him on Exodus and Alfa..we had a few chats in private, great RPer..great sense of Humor, someone I teuly missed playing with when he wasn't a round. I won't even pretend I knew him other than the biut we were online together but still gave me quite a pause when I read the news, He is young and I feel sorry for his family and friends he left behind Genuine condolences to You Lou, and to all the others whom knew and cared for him.

Jesus christ this is miserable
I will never forget the countless hours spent chatting about everything and nothing -- he was a spectacular person and the world is a poorer one for his loss.
