I don't recall intentionally overwriting any of the base terrains when setting up the haks- looking at my installation, I actually see two (different) copies of the TT_GS_Cobblestone_48.bmp terrain bitmap:

One in the /program files/atari/nwn2/NWN2Toolset folder

One in the /program files/atari/nwn2/NWN2Toolset_X1 folder

Looks like the version we put in is is the more colorful of the two- think we added it before the expansion came out, when we weren't thinking about them adding more terrains. Since we've got cobblestone 48 in the haks, it's what people are going to be seeing when they enter an area where the builder has painted it down- so you're likely best off letting it overwrite. If someone definitely wants to use the MotB version of cobblestone 48 in their module, we could renumber them with an update to the alfa_terrain.hak - I'd hestitate to do that if it's been used much by any of the build teams already (have to defer to Thangorn and Indio on that one).

M'kay, I kept a backup just in case but just wanted to be sure it wouldn't affect me when I play elsewhere seing that it was the only file asking to be overwritten. I'm hesitant to overwrite files that shipped with the game.

Thanks again for the help last night :)

Since it's a toolset resource, the only chance of it interfering would be with toolsetting done for other projects, using that cobblestone terrain.

If you're worried about it, leave/put back in the OE version of the file in place, and just make a note for yourself not to use it in ALFA building, lest it look different for the players, than it does for you.

I've got a copy of the original MotB one as well, if anyone wants/needs a copy.

Might be time to retire/rewrite this sticky- in case it's getting confusing.

The haks are at the 1.4 version as of today (3/2/2008) - the preferred means of getting them is running worldgate configured to "www.alandfaraway.org".

Builder 2DA overrides are now updated as follows:
http://www.alandfaraway.org/downloads/N ... es_1.4.rar

And importable blueprints for the latest material can be downloaded at:
http://www.alandfaraway.org/downloads/N ... ders/v1.4/

FYI. I moved the "downloads" page into the Wiki so it's easier to maintain. Everyone on the tech team should have edit rights to it. We really need to keep this page updated with each release so that we can simply link to it from the forums (from threads like this) to avoid having a myriad of information all over the place.

http://www.alandfaraway.org/docs/Technical/Downloads

This is now linked off the navigation as well.

The worldgate info needs to get up there yet and some of the outdated links need updating. Feel free to create separate step-by-step setup/install article(s) linked off the downloads page as needed.

Thanks.

Edit: Updated file references to the latest versions.

I don't have edit access to that, and all the haks linked there are outdated ones. The worldgate host is a much better system overall, since it maintains current listings in any case. I can add instructions to use the Worldgate Client to that page later, if my access gets sorted.

Whoops. My mistake. I put it in General. It's now moved to Technical so you should have edit rights to it (see link above). I already updated the file references but please double check them to make sure that they're the latest.

Yeah WorldGate is the best way to get updates, but folks outside the community (or members who couldn't be bothered with WorldGate) may appreciate having direct access to the files. It also serves to represent our body of work for those interested in seeing what we've got or in cherry picking downloads, which WorldGate doesn't really address.

Thanks, AL.

Edited to add a link for the tlk file, and clarify slightly. I can try to add something on the worldgate as well later, but wikicode is not a strength of mine.

The original post has been updated to reflect the current toolset setup for beginners.

Can one of the techies take a look and proofread. I think I got everything but I need to be sure..

Thang, is there a load order to be followed when associating the Haks in Mod properties for the first time?

Thanks,

Kate

No order requirements, our haks have no overlapping resources that need priority over each other. I tend to go alphabetical.

I'm not getting any of the .erf placeables as veiwable. I can import them into the mod I am working on, they appear in the toolset itself, but when I go to place them (such as the stained glass) nothing appears on screen. Any suggestions?

The stained glass only appears from one direction (try rotating) but I also seem to be getting problems from the latest update..
