I'm looking into options for transport, but haven't booked anything yet. I'd say 75% or greater that I'll be able to attend, but have to work out a few things.

I'm busy Friday night, but can drive up to Boston Saturday or Sunday. Where meet and when?

Well, I'm meeting valn99 friday, hopefully early afternoon. Then maybe try and meet up Friday night with anyone who's around, for dinner and drinks (if people believe that I'm over 21... silly country of yours). And then maybe a brunch or something Saturday, somewhere, and then go from there.

We basically need the folks who know Boston to pick up meeting places. Doesn't matter too much, we can always decide to move elsewhere once everyone expected is there.

Friday
afternoon:
who? Valn99, Rotku
where? my hotel or a church (1 Park Street)

evening: (well could be for dinner too)
who? valn99, Rotku, Paazin, Acadius
where? ...

Saturday
morning:
who? ...
where? ...

afternoon:
who? ...
where? ...

evening:
who? ...
where? ...

Sunday
morning:
who? ...
where? ...

afternoon:
who? ...
where? ...

evening:
who? ...
where? ...

Just to give us a general idea of when people are going to be in Boston (and available). I'm up for pretty much anything. This will be my second time in the city, so there's still a lot I haven't seen.

I've put Sunday in the list. I'm probably going to leave in the afternoon though.

For those of you going to be in Boston on the 21st-22nd, those are the last two days of Restaurant Week this summer. A lot fo the restaurants around Boston have three course meals at a reasonable price. It's a great way to go get a four star meal cheap. See here if interested:

I should be back in Boston about 3:00 PM on Saturday. I'm happy to join you all after that, and for anything on Sunday.

I'm in. Just reserved friday and sat nights at the hostel Paazin recommended, and booked a flight into Logan Int'l, arriving 3:21 PM. My return flight isn't until 6:30 PM on Sunday.

I'll start PMing the folks who will be around Friday to work out a meeting-up plan.

Okay, I'm updating the "schedule" up there as best as I can.
We're looking at dinner on Friday night, with
Rotku, Acadius, Paazin and me (anyone else, let me know).

Acadius brought up Restaurant Week (see Alynn's post):
http://www.bostonusa.com/rw08/index.html

Just need a rendez-vous point (time and place).

Now for Saturday, we've got Magonushi and Alynn coming in the afternoon. Curmudgeon, when would you care to join us?
We could arrange another dinner meeting, with everyone interested.
Again, need a time and place.

So far, I have Rotku's, Acadius' and Alynn's cell phone numbers (though no phone of my own).

I'll aim for 3pm at your hotel on Friday, Valn. I'm not sure what my internet access is going to be like over the next few days, as I'm on the road.

I'll be driving to Boston on Friday so I should arrive in the early afternoon. However, I'll probably visit my parents that evening. I should be around all day Saturday though so count me in there, valn.

People talk of bestial cruelty, but that's a great injustice and insult to the beasts; a beast can never be so cruel as man, so artistically cruel.

Depends what people are interested in, as far as places. Do people want something touristy, something local perhaps hole-in-the-wall, something chain-y? Which style of foods, (we've got some pretty exotic little places here, brazilian, ethiopian, israeli, any kind of asian etc)

I've done a basic tour of the city last year, so I know the basic landmarks.
What about a duck tour?
Anything interesting to see in Salem?

I'd like to see what MIT looks like. If we go see Harvard, I suppose it's on the way, right?

Feel free to add your own. We can make a list.

As for food, as long as it's not too spicy, I should be all right.

I'd be up for a Duck Tour - for all my time in Boston, I've never taken one.

Salem is about an hour North of the city, has the Witch Museum.

MIT and Harvard are both off Massachusetts Avenue, on the Free People's Republic of Cambridge side of the river.

I'm up for any kind of food, nice if wherever we wind up has a wine list.

Oh, and the Dire Wife has released me from bondage for Saturday, so I'm good to go.

Okay, I'm leaving for Montreal tomorrow. I should be able to check the forums one last time, tomorrow evening, after that, it'll be too late for me...

I don't think we need to settle on restaurants or activities right away.
The most important thing is that everyone who's coming should be able to join up with the group.

Looks like most of you have a cell phone. Rotku has kindly posted his number. I'll meet up with him Friday afternoon. So I think he's a good contact point.

We can try to meet with Legio and Curmudgeon Saturday morning. Don't know what time you guys get up in the morning. ;) Could be 9 or 10am.
Hmm we can try near that hostel, since Rotku and Acadius will be staying there. It seems very close to a subway station, Hynes Convention Center.
Is that a good place? Legio, Curm, I think you guys will have your car. Will parking be a problem?

As for the remaining too, Alynn and Mago. If you both have cell phones, perhaps the simplest thing is for you to call one of the guys. (Paazin is local, bug him in PM for his number! ;) ) Then we can tell you where we are and decide on a meeting place?

Lastly, if anyone has a way to reach Maxcell, tell him he HAS to come! :D

Let's settle the last minute details. I'm sure we'll have a great time. Really looking forward to this! :)
