Untrue, that setting has a ton of villains. Arthas is by no means the worst, just one of the more well-known.

I was getting ready to post that, too, Kest. Arthas is a peon compared to some of the other villians in the setting. Hes just well known because of Warcraft RTS games. There are rumors that after this expansion they might do the Emerald Dream. Who knows what they will do. Im hoping by then their next MMO title will be known and it will awesome and I can quit playing WoW for it. (although ill be playing Kotor and Star trek online too).

I stand corrected, then.

Blizzard is ashamed of how quickly 60-70 could be achieved, therefore they recently raised the level cap in WotLK so, essentially, 70-80 will take the same amount of time as 1-70 took. I believe 79-80 takes 3.2 million at the moment, which is absolutely ridiculous.
Actually they aren't ashamed about it. In fact, the most recent build cut the amount of XP required per level between 70 and 80, currently estimated at around 20%, but we will know more after a couple of days.

Blizzard has been quite unashamed about the fact the game is designed to, essentially, shuttle you to top level, where raiding is the main game (albeit a very interesting and enjoyable shuttle). While this originally was a problem, they helped lower the entry to raiding with BCs 10 mans, and are further lowering it in Wrath by having 10 man versions of every raid.

That change was to 60-70, with Tigole stating "we’re planning on speeding up leveling in the 60-70 range. Keep the feedback coming. We are still adjusting it. Let us know what levels you are in what areas in this bracket." Then again, that was back in the middle of July, but with today's patch I don't see any change listed to the experience (and normally, when levels are opened up in beta, they lower the experience by a bit to get people testing. They did it in TBC as well).

edit: Just would like to add, currently 70-71 takes about 2 million experience. This topic here has people complaining about the current state of leveling, which is what many folks have been discussing in beta (and the folks who got me back involved in the game have griped about).

trust me, they have plenty of places to go if youve ever played the game.

The Emerald Dream is in peril.
The Maelstrom still has to be explored.
There is still the looming threat underneath Gnomeregan.
The list goes on.

They have said they will be putting out one expansion every year from this point on. With a new hero class every expansion.

The Emerald Dream will definitely happen and bring about the Arch-Druid hero class *glee!*

Next time i will link directly to the article. From MMO-Champions BlueTracker:
Tigole wrote:The level cap will be 80. Storm Peaks will be available. Icecrown is still unavailable.

We'll also make the following dungeons available:

# Halls of Lightning

# Halls of Stone

# Caverns of Time: Stratholme

# The Occulus

# Utgarde Pinnacle

# Heroic: The Nexus (No attunement necessary -- just get level 80)

Gundrak and Ahn'kahet: The Old Kingdom almost made this patch but there were a few issues which held them back. Also, we sped up the leveling curve from 70-80. We're still dialing in the leveling speed so feedback is appreciated.
WoWInsider has made a very rough estimate that the rate has been dropped about 20%, but people getting in and getting numbers will get a more accurate picture soon.

Actually it was a Vivendi marketing idiot that said they were going for 1 per year. Even if that is what Blizzard wants, it will never happen, because Blizzards development style simply prohibits that. Blizzard are fully prepared to toss out months of work if it just doesnt fit or doesnt feel right in the game. This doesn't help you hit such tight deadlines.

The only possible way for them to do it with expansion 3 (Emerald Dream and Arch Druid if i was a betting man) would be if all raid content actually ships with the game, and they don't create more to tide the hardcore raiding guilds over. Post release content patches take alot of time away from expansion building.
