Re: Tavern knowledge - post your rumours and gossip here
Rumour abounds of treacherous roads on the March. Evil creeps into the land and dark hearts ply their trade openly. Be wary of the company you keep is the word passed on amongst the tradesman and merchants who ply the road.

The Lathanderite priest Nathan Krown spent some time at the grave a friend at Rivermoots cemetary before shaking hands with the Marshall and boarding a riverboat headed south.
He was overhead saying he had been ordered to his masters side in the far-off Dragon Coast and would likely not be back in the Marches any time soon.

Re: Tavern knowledge - post your rumours and gossip here
Rumours spread quickly throughout Rivermoot that, in an outburst of rage, the wizard Nephos Vorn unleashed a magical firestorm near the town gates. While such spells might be valuable in protecting the local populace, questions are being raised as to whether or not such an unstable individual is desirable in the village at all.

Rumors spread through Rivermoot that the tormite Lady Amblecrown attacked the banite priest. The banite priest apparently spared her life after defeating her.

A patrol was sighted on the Road to Rivermoot. They made camp on the road. A brief respite from the evils that lie in that foul place. Now I ain't no tee toller and I've known a young whippersnapper ta make a mistake or two. But, when ye see a lad about ta make one ye just try ta steer em right. Ye can't stand idly by and watch the neighborhood go to hell.

Aye, the patrols stay was brief. They made thier way in and out of here faster then a sailor can pump a bilge on a sinking ship. Ye figuire maybe they know something we don't. If I was a betting man, which I'm not, I'd say they'd just assume not have to worry bout folk down the river. It's not like they make much ado about who goes where or does what around Rivermoot. And, if they think this sand castle their building hereabouts will save em thier commanders be quackier than the ducks that swim beneath the bridge out front.

Word spreads throughout the Marches and incredulous voices whisper confirmation. The orc tribe with the painted blue tusks that have been plaguing the region in increasing numbers are no more. It is said that the hills southwest of Settlestone rang and shook one day, and a great cloud of dust came out of the mouth of a doorway known as the Dungeon of the Ruins, where a battalion of Legion soldiers stood ranged around the entrance with weapons poised. The ground went quiet after...for a day and a night it was still. At the end of that day and night, while the soldiers grew restless and the Spellguard with them gazed intently into the eyes of a glowing blue skull, a horrible conflagration of darkness and soul-rending power erupted on the distant horizon...a black cloud shot with electrical bolts steaming from the ground itself as if all the graves of the world turned out their contents. Screams were heard then, and phantom battles. A voice cried out in accents some might have recognized as Eastern...."I WILL NOT SERVE!" All heard this who were in the region of Settlestone. It was at this point that the Spellguard with the Legion shouted out into the seeming thin air with a voice tight with fear: "Now! The Thayyan has tagged the creature! It is now or not at all, Masters!"
No one knows what happened next. Few recall anything but a rush of power, an implosion of such magnitude and capacity that the earth shook from Settlestone to Fourthpeak. When it was over, the black cloud began to dissipate. A howl of infernal rage split the air, echoed around the mountains...and faded.

Rumors circulate through Rivermoot and the Silverymoon Lady's college that a certain young minor nobility from the Wands family of Waterdeep has arrived to study magics. He is thirsty for knowledge of the local lands and inhabitants, and would appreciate conversation and meeting new friends.

It is rumored that after seeing a name inscribed on the Sword Rock, the priest of Bane Barid Mosinel, shook his head with a look of rage, and went off into the hills. When he returned, a look of calm was on his face, he purchased a ticket to leave the Silver Marches and boarded the next ship to leave.

There was no ceremony in the Commons. There was no Feast nor celebration.dergon darkhelm wrote:*the gazebo in the Rivermoot town commons has been strung with garland of silver and blue in anticipation of a Helmite ceremony to held at tomorrow's daybreak. Instead there was a great uproar in the late night hours near the gate bridge. Guards report that huge wild man in fine crested plate armor with a long red beard, as thick and long as any dwarf, but with jutting jaw and protruding lower teeth, approached the Helmites and challenged them to a dual to the death.
It is unclear who struck the first blow, but eventually the wildman was subdued and returned to the hills.
Supposedly both the stranger and the dwarf Garlus left in great anger, labelling the Helmites "Damslayers" and "Bootlicks"

Actually it was Grim that called them Damslayers and bootlicks.
I beleive Garlus stuck to his stoopid fooks label.

Rumors circulate among the Lathanderite clergy, as well as the populace of Rivermoot that the famed paladin of Lathandar, Jonas Therin, has come to the Silver Marches. Some rumors insist that he killed a red dragon while blind, others that the beast blinded him as a deathblow.
Few know his reasons for coming, though it seems he has purchased some land near Rivermoot and a house is quickly being constructed.

Word spreads throughout Rivermoot of a tall man, dressed in red with white hair, who seeks any information on the whereabouts of a Gaius Hammidi. Some say that the man is a vigilante and others that he was dispatched by the Legion, but for any matter it would seem he is questioning individuals on the matter. Those with more discerning ears hear word of something to do with grave robbery.
