Server confirmed down. Could be a brief power outage knocked it offline, or an ISP outage, difficult to tell from here.

I'm 2800 miles from the server at the moment, so I won't be able to look in on it in person until sometime Sunday (12/28/2008).

If it was an IP change or a temporary ISP disconnect/outage, the server may come back on it's own. If it was a power outage longer than 20-30 minutes, I suspect it will have depleted the UPS and be shut down until I get back to set it running again.

Server is back up. Best I can tell, there were two very brief power outages back at my apartment on the 25th. While the server machine weathered them perfectly due to the UPS, my cable modem downstairs didn't. It was locked up and had to be manually reset to get the server back connected to the net once I was home in person.

I'll see about picking up a second UPS for the cable modem/router downstairs sometime this week to help make sure this doesn't happen again.

PS: the IP address has also changed; now TSM is at 71.63.18.145, port 5121.

Switched the router and cable modem over to the new UPS today, should help insulate the server from future power drops or spikes. Will be especially handy for when the summer thunderstorms come rolling back in again.

Power came back up eventually (but well after the 40 min-ish lifetime of the UPS setups I'd installed). No clear reason for it that I could see (no storm, no wind, etc), and it only affected a block or two; very odd.

Anyhow, server is back up, same IP as above.

Uhmmm...is everyone finding the server at 71.18.63.145? I'm finding nothing, but I'm a bit dim about these things so I thought I should check before posting that it's down.

I kept trying to put it back up, but the power kept going back out. Eventually I just went to sleep to try again this morning.

Up now, and hopefully stable.
