Rumors abound that the investigation of what happened to the missing passengers of the trade ship the Lady Wealth. Someone is being punished for murder it seems, but know one knows what quite happened, or if they do they aren't talking. Some whisper about dark magic, or being thrown overboard in the night, but one argent legion soldier who could not hold his ale spoke of cannibalism. However others scoff at that idea, there would be no need for such gruesome acts, as even if the ship somehow ran out of food, it would have been a 3 day trip at the most. More then long enough to survive only on water.

It seems quite clear from the gossip around many towns that the thief Gaius Hammidi has been caught and is awaiting trial. Many seem to think that due to the amount he stole, and from who he stole it from, his conviction is a near certainty, and that he will be hanged.

It seems a hunter from Winter's Edge has killed a commoner in Quervaar without provocation. After doing so, he immediately dropped his sword and surrendered to the guard. Before he could be properly investigated, he hanged himself in the supply room where they were keeping him. Many citizens in Quervaar are angered and some whisper desires for revenge. More Argent Legion troops have been posted in the town to prevent any such further acts, or any acts of revenge. Questions are also being asked of Winter's Edge Leaders, but no answer has been found.

Scene: Several off-duty militia sit inside Rivermoot's Angler's Inn, shouting over the noise of the crowd whilst discussing the day's events.

Stern Looking Militia Man: Did you hear about what happened across the river? That orc blooded thing that's been hanging around here, what's it's name... Grot?
Thin Militia Man: Gruu?
Stern Looking Militia Man: Yeah, whatever. Anyway... I heard It stole a Helmite body from the crypt and that Helmite, Lemuel, beat the crap out of It for grave robbing!
Weasel Faced Militia Man: You don't know what you're talking about! I saw it all from my post. Gruu, he -
Thin Militia Man: She.
Weasel Faced Militia Man: What?
Thin Militia Man: Gruu's a she.
Weasel Faced Militia Man: You're jesting! Really? Wow... Anyway... She brought the body down from the hill, all wrapped up in his Helmite cloak. Then she started burying it beneath the tree just over the road from the bridge, while that demon blooded beast -
Stern Looking Militia Man: I thought he was devil blooded?
Weasel Faced Militia Man: Does it really matter what flavour of evil he is?! Anyway... While that evil outsider blooded beast and one of his elven consorts -
Stern Looking Militia Man: Why does he get all the hot chicks anyway?
Weasel Faced Militia Man: *Ahem!* While that evil outsider blooded beast and one of his elven consorts watched on. Then, just as she was filling in the shallow grave that Lemuel fella just happened by. There was a lot of shouting... Some crap about him being the law. *rolls his eyes* I think it was over the ownership of this dead guy's stuff. Gruu looked quite shaken and I noticed that she kept her hands well away from her weapons... but she really stood her ground. I didn't hear everything, but it looks like they traded at the end after the elven woman gave Lemuel a bit of a tongue lashing. Lemuel got the guy's armour and sword. Gruu got a couple of swords and a pouch... maybe something else small.
Stern Looking Militia Man: Huh. Lemuel should have just killed It and be done with.
Weasel Faced Militia Man: Eh. I'm getting a bit sick of these Helmites, wandering in from outside and swaggering around like they own the [censored] place.
Thin Militia Man: I think Gruu's pretty hot.

*uncomfortable silence settles briefly on the inn*

Stern Looking Militia Man & Weasel Faced Militia Man: You sick bastard!

*Background noise starts up again, but the three militia men stay silent for a couple of minutes, contemplating*

Stern Looking Militia Man: You know what would have been funny, though? If It gave that devil blooded thing the Helmite armour and weapon to parade around in!

*All three burst out laughing*

An off-duty militia archer was overheard in the Rivermoot Tavern, complaining that Lt. Pomador's plans for regular patrols of the roads has finally cleared the paperwork stage. The Lt. had apparently been communicating with Argent Legion headquarters to arrange not only patrols of the local Rivermoot roads, but twice daily patrols of the entire highway between Rivermoot and Rauvinwatch Keep. Rivermoot soldiers will form part of the patrol contingent. Patrols will apparently leave Rauvinwatch Keep at dawn, arriving in Rivermoot in the late morning. A second patrol will leave Rivermoot at noon, arriving at Rauvinwatch in the late afternoon. The Lt. claims that these patrols are necessary both as a training exercise for slack soldiers and because the lawlessness of the roads has increased of late, with rumors of bandits in the hills! Travellers would be advised to travel near or with patrols to avoid suffering banditry.

An Off-duty Helmite Forces Garrison Commander was overheard speaking in glowing tones about Lt. Pomador's plans for resuming the long suspended patrols of the Rivermoot area of the road, and even more over the proposed patrols between Rivermoot and Rauvenwatch. He then approached the good Lt. and offered the assistance of any of the members of his own command in performing either of these routine patrols, should he have the need.

There are no laws against singing, not even in the Helmite temple. The Vigilant Master watched, frowning at the sloppiness of the performance, but after two stanzas he quit looking like he was itching to move Rugo along and signaled the knights around the temple to leave Rugo alone. When Rugo finished, the Vigilant Master proclaimed sternly that Rugo was never again to enter the Helmite temple in such a drunken and disorderly state and had two knights 'escort him', feet kicking in the air as they carried him by his arms, out the door.

In Silverymoon the Helmite at House Invinsible might be heard discussing an incident involving the hin known by some as Rugo. The drift of the possibly overheard discussion would have involved Rugo being tossed unceremoniously out after the Vigilant Master magnanimously allowed him to visit the crypt and sing a dirge in the hall for the fallen Hashan Pather.

One was heard to say: "The impudent little drunkard struck the gong...what possessed the little blighter to do such a thing?"

Another was heard: "If he hadn't been a freind of our fallen Watch Blade methinks the Vigilant Master would have given him the flat of his sword for his trouble..."

The first rejoined: "And what sort of verse was that?...He thinks that was a dirge?!"

Another might have been heard to say: "Tha' sort o' dirge be commern amongst the merchernt fleet...'e meant nay 'arm by it..."

The first again: "Be that as may be....on The Master's orders...he's not to be allowed back in a drunken state."

Rumors are whispered about the Lady's College that the aspiring young fire mage named Kaijin Sora has returned to Silverymoon from his holiday. He is once again seen frequenting the library for many hours either studying, or helping Librarian Oakroot sort through books. He seems more invigorated than before -- like flames rekindled once again. Perhaps that little vacation did him a little good, after all.

The Silverymoon native almost never leaves the college once the new term of classes resume again, as he more or less finds his second home within the libraries, instead.

A young wizard in a green tunic was seen getting extremely drunk in a Settlestone bar.

"No, baby, I'm a WIZARD, see? Watch... I'll make your inhibitions disappear... POOF! *leers* "

While he remained tolerable and somewhat amusing for a time, after about 6 bottles of hard spirit and 4 tankards of beer he began vomiting profusely into a bucket used for fermenting ales. As the barkeep made to use him as a dishrag to clean the bar, he was quickly escorted upstairs by a dark haired knight in black and gold armor.

Most bystanders agreed this is why you shouldn't let longleggers drink good Dwarven spirit in public, especially weak looking skinny ones.

In Felbarr it was seen that once again, Garlus of the Ironbeard Clan had burrowed through the snowpacked trail in order to bring the dead to rest. One Granitte Coldforge, Sonnlinar, was brought to the gates as Felbarr Sonnlinar and Talhunds were called forth to take and prepare the body. A conversation was also overheard by the guards between Garlus and one of Darkstones troope, involving a needed bridge along one of the pathways in the lowlands and promises of payment from the dwarf himself.

Rumors fly through the Lady's College that a tall man with dark hair in dark full plate armor, and a woman with white hair in deep blue full plate, were seen having a discussion with Marcus Wands and the dwarf Garlus in the library. After a short argument, the man with black hair clenched his fists, clearly spit on the floor in front of Marcus, and stalked out, accompanied by the woman.

Rumors circulate around the college and many eager students flock to the Dean and to Nephos's statue. It is said that the dwarven Garlus of Clan Ironbeard donated a shield of ancient Netheril found in the Star Tower itself to the school. The Dean can be seen grinning slightly at the eagerness and commotion, as he prepares the shield to be placed with the statue of Nephos Vorn.

Rumors circulate through the artisans of Silverymoon that the apprentice dwarf of Rundarr Ironsheild has been dubbed a Master Smith, and has been hard at work creating Masterwork Armours within the Smithy. It is also said from the boy who delivers the furnace coals to Ironshield Smithy that the newly recognized dwarf Garlus of Clan Ironbeard is currently working with Mithral. It is also widely whispered that the dwarf is also a fairly well known jeweler who can be seen frequently at Isolia's shop, and is becoming adept at placing gems within armour. Those of the trade have gone so far as to put in their books the new Master Craftdwarfs forge symbol, a dwarven rune inside a diamond inside a triangle.

House Invincible has announced to much acclaim(though some chuckle in taverns that is mostly their own) that a House Invincible patrol recently wiped out an entire orc tribe that had moved to close to Silverymoon. This pre-emptive strike is thought to have saved many lives, as it was clear the orcs were preparing for battle.

Rathalan Whitsword and Lemuel Ogdenstorm have been qeerying Rivermoot guards and locals for information on the men, supposedly of House Invincible, who performed a raid in the hills North of the village.

It is clear from the tone and nature of their questioning that neither man seems to have had any knowledge of the raid.

Watchknight Whitsword seems personally angered and has made it clear that no significant House Invincible military operations are to be undertaken in the Western Silver Marches without his direct approval.

Writs requesting briefings about what is known of the supposed House Invincible action have been presented to a number of Rivermoot officers including Lt. Pomador, Sgt. Baron, Marshall Kadallion, and Sgt. Longarm.

____

Less publicly, Whitsword has written letters to The House Invincible and even Vigilant Master Baerim Corrador himself asking for confirmation of the raid and clarification regarding chain of command and the name of the unit commander who carried out the North Hills sortie.

____

One taverngoer was said to have overheard Watchknight Whitsword tell Knightblade Ogdenstorm to avoid further use of the word "slaughter" in regard to the action and to discourage its use among locals. Instead "culling", "eradication" and "clearance" are preferred terminology.
