*&%&$(*^&%$!!
The toolset crashes are driving me crazy. I've setup as per the ALFA guidelines, and used tweakguides to set up NWN2, any other itps please. I'm loosing hours or work per day due to crashes...

Re: Toolset Crashes
Save often, and with different filenames.
Turn autosave OFF
Also: Dont have the client / game running at the same time the toolset is. If the toolset tries to write while the mod is open in the player / DM client, a crash will surely occur.

Re: Toolset Crashes
We should have a list stickied on best practices to avoid toolset crashes. I can sympathize, it's highly demoralizing to lose xhours of work.

Re: Toolset Crashes
One thing is very deliberate mouse actions and doing things a bit more slowly. My only tip so far. Only 3 areas to go!

Re: Toolset Crashes
When I was giving a facelift to a few areas I had terrible crashes till I erased all the grass. Grass should be used sparingly and artfully rather than laid out in wide swaths like we have on so many areas. This seems to be the only reason my toolset crashes anymore at all.

Re: Toolset Crashes
Autosave is off, and I'm using grass sparingly, on 25% with height less than 1 (The NWN2 forums says that if the greass height is less than 1 it has less of an effect on server performance than the taller stuff - from a PW builder.)

Re: Toolset Crashes
Unicode or non-US regional settings can also trip the toolset up.

Re: Toolset Crashes
No Kidding?! So if I have Aus keyboard/regonal settings that can cause toolset crashes! what a jip!

Re: Toolset Crashes
To do this I just set the Autosave to False, right?Curmudgeon wrote:Autosave off!Rotku wrote:Autosave off?Turn autosave OFF

Re: Toolset Crashes
Ok, so doing everything else, and placing the grass down last seems to be beneficial in stopping crashes.
