A mage, in binary.

Post by binarymage »

Hi! First and foremost thank you admins for the chance to play amongst you all.

Now that I have that out of the way, my name is Scott. I have been gaming for about 15 years which started with DnD. I moved away from DnD in tabletop sessions as my group of friends and I have our own simplified version made to ease the silliness of rules indexing. Not for everyone but works for us and is more pliable than just for fantasy settings.

Characters I tend to excel at include those with a penchant for manipulating the undead, big dumb half-orc fighters, and smarmy non-traditional rogues (think spies, diplomats, *clears throat, then whispers* merchants.) I occasionally play clerics and bards but they are a degree more difficult for me. Bards mostly because since I don't use DnD in real life games anymore my lack of lore and canon knowledge is limited. Clerics because I have trouble playing extremely devoted characters. Which leads me to what you will never see me play, a Paladin. They annoy me personally so much that their personification makes me ball a fist. (Doesn't mean I don't respect those that play them mind you, just can't do it myself)

Other than that there isn't much that I am willing to share on a message board. Over time, as you get to know me I am sure you will see I am just a regular guy that just likes to play DnD. Anyways, see you in game and happy hunting/role-playing.

Welcome to ALFA mate :smirk:
"The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully." -- Richard Dawkins

Heh...I hope mine is there when your Necromancer meets team H.I. .

Good luck with your next one after that, mate

I'm looking forward to seeing you IG, have you decided which server yet?

Opted to not play the necromancer as I heed warnings. Decided on a half-orc that likes to punch things and thinks adventuring is dangerous on TSM.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I am confident that is my new home so I will be seeing some of you around once I can get Trunk over the fact that he is no longer a farmer.

If he likes to farm, he might have a job :)

Heh..wasn't trying to dissuade you. My last one had a brief but momentous adventure with a Necromancer (before said necro was caught, jailed, and hanged that is  ). Play what is fun for you, because then it will be fun for everyone, just be prepared for the IC consequences of IC actions.

We have PC's of all kinds and all are welcome, but it might be easier to meet and greet with something not too extreme. We've got wonderful players and staff here, so give yourself a chance to meet everyone on neutral ground before going all out nasty would be my un-asked for advice. :D

And don't worry...you'll get plenty of chances to roll up fresh
