Intelligence is knowing tomatoes are a fruit. Wisdom is not putting them in a fruit salad.

And I just noticed it's in the replies too. The discussion following the original post is quite interesting, with a lot of good arguments for different viewpoint. A useful read.

The intelligent person knows the answer to a question. The wise person knows what question to ask.

Stats discussions just aren't the same without CHA though.

actually semi serious about this:
can we have a comliness score also please?

perhaps base it on physical stats (str and dex anyway) and cha, an average of the three?

seems a good way to decide how attractive someone is in a reasonable way

Seems reasonable, and if memory serves (though all too often I'm left waiting with an empty glass ;) ) that is cannon as well. At least I think I remember comeliness being a combination of stats. In either case it will likely remain an RP issue...Charisma is a stat generally agreed to be like other stats: meta info.

You can ask for a comeliness check, but you will have to accept whatever answer is given.

While I personally don't agree, this is ALFA consensus and is settled.

Intelligence is book smarts, or knowledge, wisdom is street smarts or insight and experience.

An intelligent person can name every bone in the body, every organ, explain to you how all these parts work and interact to keep us alive and breathing. A wise person understands what it means to be alive and how best to live. =)

I dunno about that. The stereotypical rogue doesn't always act wise even if possessing a BA in street smarts.
