Server Numbers Widget Broken
I've seen it discussed in IRC but I wanted to post it here in case those who have access to fix it have not yet noticed.
Ther server numbers are frequently flat out wrong. Lately they seem to acknowledge people logging in, show them for a while, and reset to zero after a certain amount of time. This ends up showing that no one is on, likely discouraging some folk from playing when in fact tonight there was multiple people on every server.
I have no idea what the error could be, but it's been significantly bugged of late,

I'll try to look at this ASAP.
This is really strange though. Are you sure it's not a refresh problem on your side ?

I've been getting the same issue, them resetting to zero then logging the folk that log in after it's reset to zero but not showing the people that were logged in before it reset.
Re: Server Numbers Widget Broken
I'm certain it is not an error on my end.
So far I have only noticed this on the TSM counter I should mention, but it may be happening on the other two as well.
A common situation is like this:
-Counter reads zero
-log in to gamespy
-three people are on
-log into server
-check counter and it shows that I am logged on and no one else
-some time passes
-check counter and it shows no one is on even though four people are now on.

Sounds like you PK'ed them alright, and this is just an elaborate ruse to cover your tracks

The power of concealment lies in revelation.

MS has been wrong too, usually on the low side.

It updates every 10 minutes, so if there were 0 people on 9 minutes ago, it will say 0 even though 3 people joined in the mean time.
When you notice these issues, do you get the same behavior from zicbot, or is zicbot mostly right in comparison ?

*nods* that would help me indeed.
I'll try to splatter this bug once we have moved to the new server (therefore after January 2) or before if I get some time during the "end of year" vacations.

Re: Server Numbers Widget Broken
I have corrected a potential bug in the code of the servers widget. It would report 0 players if the database connection wouldn't work temporarily (which can happen if the website/forum is used a lot) and this would stay for 10 minutes.
Can you tell me if the problem is still here ?

Re: Server Numbers Widget Broken
ran into a likely root cause of this while hunting down another bug for Hialmar's vaultster testing. Fix has been applied to all three Live servers, so the numbers applet should be behaving more reliably from here on out.

Re: Server Numbers Widget Broken
New problem (for me at least): when hovering the mouse pointer over "The Silver Marches", a pop-up appears with the names of players and DMs online. But there's no such pop-up for the other two servers.

I've got a similar problem like hollyfants, I can see players/DMs when hovering the pointer over TSM and Moonshaes, but not BG.
